Funny, if you just watch ESPN, you would think that the college basketball universe revolves around the UNC area and the most diehard fans come from tobacco road. Guess not.

After living in North Carolina for awhile, I noticed their following includes mostly casual fans that jump on the bandwagon whenever they're good.  Just look at the Doherty era for proof.  I was also surprised at the large number of NC State fans down there, and the complete absense of any Duke fans.

This is my favorite season in CBB since 2002-3....

- Marquette totally performs above expectations even with injuries, defections, etc..
- North Carolina is mediocre with McDonald's All Americans left and right
- UCLA sucks

I love how ESPN constantly gives Roy Williams excuses for why they are so mediocre this year.  320+ coaches in America would kill for their talent.  Yet we have to hear about injuries, next year's recruiting class, et al.

Sorry... North Carolina has UNDERPERFORMED this year.  Period.

I'm down here too. Seems the NCState fans slightly outnumber UNC while there are nowhere near as many Duke fans. Duke fans around here seem to be mostly transplanted northerners.
