Is it hopeless?
« on: March 11, 2021, 01:20:06 PM »
7 years no NCAA wins / losing record in BE

9th place this year w / losses to DP and GT...

3 straight years w / 1-6 streaks to tank seasons

Another “ young “ team next year
Lack of real BE caliber talent

Problems that go on year after year after year ( turnovers, terrible offense, lack of inbounds plays, can’t break a press )

And an Admin that does not seem to care...

Deane got let go after 5 years,  and had accomplished more.  CreaN and Buzz ...
Got even more done.

What has happened?  Cuz if Cords and
Wild we’re still around he’d be gone ...

I'm apathetic to the current MUBB situation until something changes.

Let the record reflect .. MU was 4-2 to end the season.

They have gone 1-6 each of the last
3 years

Twice to end the year,  and this year during the middle ( each of which helped destroy/ bottom out the seasons )

In my 50+ years of attending MU basketball I have never been more disgusted! Wojo is a nice guy, represents the university well and recruits great kids!! Yet he could be the worst coach for the past 50+ years. Bob Dukiet era was bad but he had zero talent...Wojo has talent. It will be very difficult for Marquette to move on and eat his extended contract but something has to change in coaches.

Let the record reflect, Wojo got his ass kicked in both NCAA tourney games over 7 wasted years. Just the frigging facts mam
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind.

I agree with your sentiment. However, the change is not happening this off season. Lovell has his hands full with enrollment declining, layoffs etc. No way Marquette is paying him to leave. I also do not believe Lovell is the right guy to lead our University going forward. The school needs a heavy hitter that can raise money, engage alums and turn the ship around.

Dukiet had zero talent because of who the head coach was.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I sense you missed one or both of our sarcasms.

(I had to google to make sure sarcasm had a plural...)

It is good to have the mods experience mutual sarcasms.   Need the stress relief.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

The facts are that MU once again went 1-6......for the 3rd straight year.
This year it didn’t happen at the very end of the season. Yay!

3 straight years w / 1-6 streaks to tank seasons

We kind of built up to that...

  • 2017: 1-4 stretch after beating #1 Nova. (Win over #183 DePaul)
  • 2018: 1-5 stretch to go from 3-2 in the league to 4-7. (Win over #99 DePaul)
  • 2019: 1-6 stretch to end the season. (Win over #88 St. John's)
  • 2020: 1-6 stretch to end the season. (Win over #67 Georgetown)
  • 2021: 1-6 stretch in the middle of the season. (Win over #114 Butler)
I guess we should've seen it coming when we had a 1-12 stretch in Wojo's first season (win over #83 Seton Hall).

In a word, yes. Let the Wojo contract expire, let the Fiserv/Bucks lease die. Hire Wardle, move to the Al, and join the Missouri Valley/Horizon. Basketball program goes from a $20 M/year operation to a $2 M/year outfit. Budget problems solved. Sell yourself out for buy-games to Big Ten teams to support the soccer teams.

Games versus UWM will now mean something!

Who’s the new Big Daddy (RIP) of the group that can get us some solid inside info?  I am of the thought that there is no way Wojo is let go with that buyout but I’m hopeful I’m wrong.  But we need some solid info one way or another so we can all move on.  Not just buyout speculation.

There are many things that could be done to convenience wojo to leave MU. Cut his budget to near zero would be a good start.
