In MU's Glory Days...
« on: June 13, 2020, 11:07:05 AM »
Back in MU's glory days, the movie Shaft came out. I always thought that John Shaft epitomized what made MU basketball great back in that era. Tough , Self reliant kind of guy who wasn't looking for handouts. A great role model.

I would love it if MU made this song its pump up song before the games at the FiServ.

Fish in a barrel.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

According to the lyrics he's the black private dick that's a sex machine to all the chicks. I'm sure the BOT would approve that.

He’s a complicated man, but no one understands him but his woman (John Shaft)

In response to everyone else, there's 2:40 of instrumental introduction that could be used, but the instrumental part by itself is actually probably too low key.  The lyrics are problematic.

BTW, that's a gun in his hand, right?

Gordon Parks knew his stuff.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
