Top 100 That Elected Not To Play In College?
« on: November 04, 2013, 10:53:34 AM »
We were having a discussion this morning, maybe someone here can shed light on it.

Can anyone remember a top 100 player that elected not to play in college.  Not was injured, or got into trouble, or played Football or baseball.  Rather a top 100 player that just did not want to play at the next level.

At first I thought you meant Brandon Jennings.  But I think you're saying there was someone who didn't even want to play basketball anymore?

Correct ... any examples of a top 100 basketball player that elected to never play again after high school?

If you do this request for football, and after college, I vote for Albert Haynesworth.

I'd add Ratliff as well

Easy Ed or Mike? As I recall there were two guys named Ratleff/Ratliff playing college basketball at the same time, both very good. Easy Ed was a member of the Olympic team.

Jay....the one doing his best Albert Haynesworth impression and just signed with the Bears.   These guys go out and get huge signing bonuses, then decide they don't want to work, get cut but keep the $$$. Then they find another sucker to do the same thing.

Good work if you can get it. Not much for self-esteem but think of the concussions they avoid

No, I was asking if any top 100 player decided not to pursue sports above the high school level and went to college for a degree and/or got a "regular job."

In other words, they decided sports were not for them and moved on with their life?
