If you could blame the season on one person...
« on: March 05, 2014, 11:48:32 AM »
... why would you even try?  It's a team sport, and while you can pinpoint certain instances where an MU player has faltered this season, those players have also had moments that have lifted the team as well.  As a team, you grind together, you shine together, and if you don't grind, you pine together.

It's been said, and I agree 100% at this point that the problem is that these guys have been wired under Buzz to embrace an underdog mentality and when they go into a year being the favorite, they completely lose their identity and become vulnerable.  Even last night... it almost seemed like MU went into and played the game expecting to win, not wanting to win.  Like most of the games this year, MU hasn't been the most talented team on the court during tournament play the past few years, but they advanced to the 2nd weekend simply because they worked harder and wanted it more.

So if there's one thing that has to be absolutely clear to each and every member of the team now... they are the underdog, and they are going to be playing teams from here on out that know deep down they can beat MU.  MU needs to walk into the Garden next week with a fire in their belly stoked by the remnants of whatever expectations remain.  Only then will they dance.

Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

I'd blame me.   Why not?   That's what my wife does.

I can and I will blame one person: Buzz Williams.

Teams rise together, fall together.  True, but this is his team in every sense of the word, as both head coach and GM.

Larry Williams.   If only Buzz had been allowed to recruit more JUCO's.......

Duane for getting hurt, Vander for not staying, DJ Newbill and Jeronne Maymon's dad

Oh sorry, was I only supposed to name one?

The chick who sent me a shot at the bar. Totally messed up my good luck routine. Definitely the nail in the coffin.

After this list is compiled, we should have someone set up a vote of the five most likely responsible people to determine the board's collective scapegoat for this season's misery and woes.

So far, strong candidates for the top five include:

Pontius Pilate
The chick who sent over the shot
Canada

Honorable mention: ElDonBDon for attempting to ruin this thread with an actual opinion when levity is clearly the medicine this board requires.

Any advice for that one? Not at the whole wife thing yet but the lady friend has been blaming me for a lot recently for studying too much...
