We've competed against almost (Seton Hall) every team we've played this season (home and road) and stayed within striking distance well into the second half of every game - Ohio St., Michigan St, Wisconsin, Xavier, St. John's, Georgetown, etc..  I don't see any reason tomorrow will be different.  Villanova is likely going to have to scratch and claw, but their talent and experience will likely wear down MU eventually.

I do think before the year is over, we're going to get somebody (maybe a couple even) that no one saw coming.  A team that is as close as MU is so often, usually get over the hump finally.

We've competed in every game and I expect the same. Doubt we pull the upset but I do think it will be a good game. Slow the pace and we cover the spread but don't snap the losing streak yet.

I think we get steam rolled but that doesn't mean Wojo was a bad choice or is a bad coach. We are not playing with a full compliment of players to compete in the Big East this year... Plain and simple. Nor are we regressing to a lower level of overall competence. Just a transition year is all.......... Relax. Not time for "Chicken Littles" of the message board to dominate the chatter.......

Anyone thinking this current team can compete at a high level vs. top D1 programs just doesn't understand basketball. We just don't have the horses but doesn't mean we can't come out and play hard every night, and should. We CAN be competitive most nights but will realistically have to play perfect, error free games to win. Are we going to get to the NCAA, no. Should we pack up the tents, no.

We'll be OK.

Disagreed, they should probably lose a lot of games by a lot given the current makeup of our roster.  It's why I'm encouraged for the future of the program Wojo is leading.  He's short on talent and size and yet he has the team competing every game against teams with superior talent and size (on most nights).  Is Wojo without fault?  Of course not.  But when he gets actual talent into the program (he will) I think we'll be in a really good spot.

Our local basketball expert says those minutes need to go to JJJ because he was ranked higher out of high school so he has to be better.  He'd be a star if Wojo would just let him make his first 20 errors without pulling him.  Mind games, I tell ya.

Spread will be covered. Guaranteed. Stone cold lock. Done Deal. In sharpie.
Margin of victory will be 12.  I won't say which way.

I will, however, go out on a limb and say that a foul will be called on Luke Fischer, Matt Carlino will attempt a 3-point basket, and the word "onions" will be uttered during the broadcast.

31% of our fans at present are predicting an MU win.  You should go bet the Money Line if you truly believe MU is going to win tonight - +1000.  Bet $100 and win $1,000.

Wish I shared the optimism.  Line has moved from MU +14 to MU +15.5.

Hell, at that rate those who predicted an MU win should lay on MU and the points.

I think you have your statements backwards.

1. If you truly believe MU will win go take MU and the points.  (even money)

or if you are super confident

Take the money line on an MU win. (10:1)

I don't believe there is an option to take MU and lay the points.  But if there was that probably would be +3000.

I get the feeling we're going to get spanked tonight.  Villanova does the things we have trouble stopping (ball movement, perimeter shooting).

OTOH, I think Duane Wilson is the guy who could have a big game for us.

As for Wojo, I do not like how we lose our aggression on both halves of the court very late in games, but otherwise I find little to fault.  Good recruiting, good effort, generally good game plans.  It will pay off, though unfortunately not this season.

On the road I don't think we can score enough points to be competitive. Most conference games we've struggled to hit the 60's in points scored. I think we need to score in the high seventies to keep pace with nova.

Our 3 point defense was less than stellar against Seton Hall and Butler, I think it's going to be a long night for us.

I'm thinking MU 62, Nova 80.

I'm looking for Juan to step up and do something in this game. They have athletic bigs and we need him to play well offensively. Seems to have lost confidence in his 3 point stroke as well. I think Luke will be in foul trouble all game.

I'm putting 30 on the money line and hedging some of it with 30 on the spread. I like MU +14 and love the minimal risk with a huge payout that you get from the money line tonight. Worst case I'm out 63 best case I make 270.

Marquette plays good for a while and then the wheels come off eventually. Probably around the 12 minute mark. Lose by 8-12 points. I think they cover the spread. Big spread. Almost as if we're a cupcake.

Hey, it is not very hard to predict that MU will loose big, however, thankfully we have emotions, feelings and hope in spite of the gloom seekers of the world. We have nothing to loose and everything to gain by being optimistic. Choose as you wish. I choose the positive.
