Let’s play Indiana State. Larry Bird used-up his eligibility.

Imagine the logistics of a “scheduled” game, let alone an unscheduled game with Covid.

It will be interesting to hear how this came together.  Also will be interesting to see where this will be televised.  My guess is that we will see a lot of grainy film from 1977 and a lot of Wojo floor slapping.

ESPN2 has an open college basketball window from 6:00-8:00 pm on Wednesday. The best options they currently have to move in there are Citadel/Furman or Manhattan/Siena. I'd bet that's the window and channel.

Maybe UNC will go into Dean Smith's 4 corner offense. Oh wait! There's a shot clock nowadays, isn't there?

Love that we are playing them.

So, a lot of crow to be eaten here.

This is a really well done job by the Athletic Department and Wojo. Couldn’t have been easy, but a really quality game on short notice.

I just wish it would have happened when I had a chance to go. Got to go to the Dean Dome once and it was a blast.

Yeah, any other year, I'd be making the drive to Chapel Hill and going to this game. Oh well ... still will be fun to watch us beat 'em on ESPN!

Should be a great test for MU. A blueblood with a down year on their floor. Be interesting to see the outcome.

It would be an opportunity to see two former MUBB recruiting targets, Caleb Love, and, RJ Davis. (MU's chances were much better with Davis)

Both Love and Davis are examples of high level recruits that take a season to get experience, ups and downs, before possibly making a bigger leap their 2nd season. I use this example to bring it back to Marquette, Lewis, Garcia, Carton. Not having a good enough returning supporting cast has been a bigger MUBB issue. (It also has been an issue at UNC.)

Love 28 Minutes a game
Davis 23 Minutes a game.

Two point guards sharing the court at  the same time at times, and sometimes not.

Neither have shot the ball well. Love averaging 11 and 4, Davis 8 and 2.

Love of course had the big game vs Duke. It's interesting because Love grew up wanting to attend Duke, was recruited by Coach K, but Jeremy Roach was also recruited by them and committed first. So Love chose UNC, also his dad's favorite. (He wanted to play point guard in college.)

I haven't seen this announced anywhere yet. What sources are saying this game is scheduled?

As far as published, I had it up first on Cracked Sidewalks. This thread was the third that I saw online and first that was not behind a pay wall. It has been confirmed by UNC Twitter, Marquette Twitter, Ben Steele at JS Online, and Jon Rothstein, among others.

I will be 100 Percent rooting for Marquette in the game versus UNC .

Keys to winning are:

1. Justin back in the lineup. We need him to bang on the boards versus UNC frontline.
2. Limit Turnovers.
3. Move the Ball and take quality shots . Don't put up bad shots early in the shot clock.
4. Continue with Greg Elliott starting and Jamal providing bench strength.
5. Dawson and DJ get off to good starts.
6. Koby get physical with UNC guards. Show them what life is like in the Big East

I think our guys can go down to Chapel Hill and get a win with no fans in the Dean Dome.

My wife and I are thinking about trying to get to NC for the game if we can somehow get a couple of the few tickets available. If anyone here has or finds info regarding admittance, please PM me. I will be searching the net but any ideas are welcome. We have had both shots of Pfizer so not worried about Covid.

I will be in Charlottesville on Wednesday for an afternoon appointment with my cardiologist. Maybe I can reschedule so that it will be only about a 2 1/2 hr drive from our home rather than 3 1/2 hr. from Cville but if she knew that I was planning to go to a bball game she might tell me to stay home! Maybe I will ask her how safe I am for a bout of stress.

Anyone else going to try to go?
