Catamounts were huge.  Up to 3' high at the shoulder.  220 pounds and estimated they could run up to 50 mph.
No wonder the settlers killed them.  I'm sure they dined on the farmers livestock rather than having to chase little deer around.
They're practically the size of a female lion.
