I think what I like most about this team is that we have the potential to legitimately go 9-10 deep. We all know Wojo wants to run and it looks like we may finally have the horses to do just that. Plus our team looks incredibly conditioned and in shape. We will run a lot of teams out of gas.

One thing for me is that these games haven't clarified the rotation much. It feels like the starting five are set, but there hasn't been any real separation between numbers 6-9. If anything, guys (especially JJJ and Heldt) have presented themselves well, demonstrating that they deserve a regular role. And that's without Cheatham playing.

That's all good.

I keep forgetting that we don't have Cheatham playing yet. Another weapon.

The only thing that I'm wary of with this team is our toughest games (minus UW) are right at the start of the season, and with the rest of the non con schedule being poor it's imperative for us to get off to a good start.

Honest question. Are we this good, or is this team just lousy?

The guys shot an unbelievable percent from the field and ran....The first quarter was competitive but this other team is exhausted.

Somewhere in between is usually the answer.  I like what I'm seeing from our team.  However, seeing some of the passing and mistakes that Sam Buckets is making - they seem like they kind of suck despite what the announcers are saying.

Bilde and Broeker saying this team is solid, along with Haukar. MU just playing really well today.

I think they're much better than the Italian team. We're just finding our groove. On a side note, I would have loved to see us play Jake Thomas. Too bad he's not on the squad anymore.

They had some skill, but MU's fitness level wore them down. The energy they had at the end of a long trip was really impressive.

Can easily see the improvement in the returning guys, and the freshmen all seem fine with playing their roles. We haven't seen Cheatham yet, and he can really play. If this is the starting point for the season, I think we'll have some fun this year.

Agree.  Massagno actually appeared to be a somewhat talented team.  Just zero practice time before this game and they're not yet in good basketball condition meaning that by halftime they were already totally out of gas.  Bottom line, we're playing significantly better than a week ago.  It's been a highly productive trip.

Seems that way. Encouragingly, none of our guys looked completely lost or out of place. Could be different when the real games start, but I think it will be fun to watch this group develop.

I'll say this.  We'd kick the crap out of Omaha this year.  Does that mean we'll consistently beat Top 40 teams?  Time will tell.  We'll know more after facing a tough Belmont.  But no doubt we accomplished our goals this past week.  And we've got The Engine!

Since no one brought it up, was the substitution buzzer just some dude outside the window beeping his car horn?

Coolest name on the Sam Basket team:  Massimo Galliano.

That's the way my dad likes his Harvey Wallbangers.

Just got done watching today's game. Lots of positives, but what I liked the most was Jajuan's midrange pull up jumpers. After a rough first outing offensively he looked much better the past few games.

Beyond that, Traci and Luke were great, turnovers were down, really a complete team performance. Liked how we were able to dominate early with Henry less of a factor. All in all a good tour and has me excited for Madness and then some real action.
