NEW YORK (AP) — Terry Anderson, the globe-trotting Associated Press correspondent who became one of America’s longest-held hostages after he was snatched from a street in war-torn Lebanon in 1985 and held for nearly seven years, has died at 76.

I got to meet Terry and to attend a couple of his talks. He was an amazing man who had to overcome a lot after he got home.
Terry and other journalists who risk their lives in war-torn countries to keep the rest of the world informed truly are profiles in courage.

I also got to meet him at a luncheon he spoke at, I actually sat at the table with him. Amazing stories.
