So this weeks has us a 4 seed. I couldn't help but looking at our region....does that region look, not easy, but, doable for us? I understand we're in january and it'll change a million times but....damn....I would love that region come march/april.
It's not about ME,
It's about US.

Not that I really care, but Wisconsin is down to a #7.  That should calm some people down around here.

I wonder if Bradley would do an NCAA tournament shuffle before its first round matchup with us...

One thing that I found interesting on the Bracketology Nitty Gritty report was that it said that the odds of retaining a 1-4 seed at 50%.  I wonder what the pomeroy statistical model would say about that?

Kind of confused, what has Lville done to get a 3 seed?  One good win vs Nova?  Well maybe they'll topple ND tonite.

Hey guys, just a suggestion (slash minor pet peeve) but when you reference a source, like Bracketology (which, admittedly, isn't tough to find) it can be helpful to provide a link (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology) for the rest of us. Thanks!

Anyway, jay, I totally agree. Our region as it's set up right now would be a great draw for us.

I hate Pitino, and ESPN's love of Pitino.  What was the purpose of that box in the ND game tonight that had the camera focused on Pitino while the play was going on?  It was covering up the players on the court in the normal camera angle and was way too distracting.  Seriously, what do I care what Pitino's face looks like?  If I was wondering what the coach was doing during a play, I'd look at him on the sideline from the normal camera angle.  Good grief that was annoying.

I believe there was a Crean pace cam last year in the game against Pitt. I spose the just like to ow coaches who do stuff on the sidelines, either pacing, or yelling to his players.

With 3 of the predicted losses having a chance to win over 44%, I'd say 50-50 is about right.

Has anyone seen a link as to where ESPN's getting those percentages, anyway?

Say what you want, but Lunard is typically pretty close with his picks.

I don't think that there is any statistical model that Lunardi is using, I think he is just estimating himself based on the remaining schedule and the potential for the RPI to go up down, etc.  At least I haven't seen any explanation as to how he is getting the percentages.  But I do know that Lunardi uses his RPI model pretty heavily and the S-Curve based on that to build his bracket.
