Big East, obviously. They are as close to Cinderellas as anyone else left. After that, it is a whole bunch of teams I don't like. I ordinarily loathe Michigan. However, this team, after surviving a near-death experience, has been very fun to watch. As unclean as it makes me feel, I find myself admiring them. I have developed a healthy dislike of Cock over the last few days. I always hate Bucky. Impossible to root for Kentucky or UNC. Alford is an ass. So........ man. Go Big East. And Huggy? (shudder)
-
I admire Huggy for who he is. There really isn't much bullsh*t about him, and in this age of coach-speak, he can be refreshingly blunt. This came out a few weeks ago...

Butler and Purdue. Picked them to the Final Four, so gotta back my picks. Xavier, even though I picked Arizona I'm still supporting the Big East. And Florida, for obvious reasons.
-
Butler and Xavier.
And Florida on Friday. And Baylor. Bucky must die.
-
Butler, X, UCLA, and can't forget florida to beat bucky
-
Gotta root for South Carolina.
The farther they go, the less of a "bad beat" our loss was.
Plus in the the next round, they are playing that squeaky-clean program, Baylor.
-
I'm not pulling for Baylor because I like Baylor, I'm pulling for them to block Bucky if she gets past Florida.

+1.
X, Butler, and then SCarolina.

After beating ND the reporter asked how he planned to celebrate. Looking somewhat peeved, he said "I'll probably do some recruiting." She chuckled. He didn't.
-
Florida and Baylor (obvious reasons are obvious), Gonzaga (for my bracket), and Big East teams ($$$).
-
Butler and X. Otherwise all bets are off. Bust my bracket, give me boring games, give me bad officiating...as long as somebody beats UW and erases this queasy feeling I have.
-
Florida, South Carolina, WVU, Xavier, Kansas, Oregon, Butler, Kentucky
Would be in a good position to win a lot of $ with those outcomes, plus aside from UK over UCLA, it would align with my rooting interests in general
-
BEast and Michigan mainly. Would like to see SC make the final four just because I have a strong dislike for the 3 other teams in that region. Like Purdue too.
Feel like Big East needs to get one into the elite eight for at least a semi-respectable showing from the conference.

Big East never gets respect any way

True, not as much respect as we should. Was really hoping Nova could repeat and make a statement. Really hoping Butler or X can make it past next weekend.

He has a nice rap sheet.
-
Rooting for Michigan.
Then Florida, Baylor/South Carolina.
-
Bucky, Zona, UM, and Cocks, hey?
-
Florida
Then Zona, UNC, and Oregon.
-
Florida, SC, Gonzaga, Xavier, Kansas, Butler, UK.
Toss up between Oregon/Michigan. Like both teams.
-
Cocks are solid, penetrate well, rebound, run da back door, and can finish, ai na?

And one of our posters here is obsessed with a certain Cock's thick neck...

Butler, Xavier and Florida.

Butler, Xavier, Florida, South Carolina.
-
Purdue, Butler, X, South Carolina.
Truth be told, I actually really like watching South Carolina play. Beating Duke never hurts that, but the way they've played in the tournament sorta reminds me of some of the Buzz era Marquette teams, the 2010-2011 team in particular. Not sure why.
-
'Cuz der imperfect, tough, mofos, hey?

I agree with this well thought out, in-depth, fully reasoned analysis. Go you Sabal Palmettos!

Chick, you think like I do. The more they win, the less awful that loss to them looks.
Just somebody please vanquish Bucky. That ugly rodent MUST DIE!

However, this team, after surviving a near-death experience, has been very fun to watch.
Did I miss the full story of the Michigan plane incident or is the story getting more perilous as the team progresses. Not that any accident with a plane is minor, but the initial description I heard didn't sound life threatening. This week, every time I hear it referenced it is along the lines of "near death". Not just you Tower, game announcers, reporters, etc.
-
Butler, Xavier and Gonzaga (surprised at the lack of west coast Jesuit love).
-
Butler, Xavier and WVU. And for Wisconsin to play really well and then choke at the end against Florida.

That would be great

I don't think you missed anything. It was not "near death." The plane never left the ground and slid off the runway. No injuries.
I'm sure it was scary as hell, but they were no closer to death than most of us are whenever we cross a busy street.
-
I do remember reading it stopped 100-300 yards short of a ravine. I think the risk was stopping short of that.
-
Butler, Xavier and Gonzaga (surprised at the lack of west coast Jesuit love).
Ditto.
Huggy & WVU is always entertaining.
-
Well Notre Dame lost so I guess all that is left is Wisconsin.
-
Gonzaga and Purdue(will always support BE as well).
They are my only bracket hopes left.
All year I've said this is Gonzagas year much like I did last year for Nova. So pride is involved.
Purdue was my sneaky final 4 pick and I hate Kansas.
-
I have to admit that I have an affinity for teams that are not named after states. This particular bias often costs me money when I fill out the brackets. So, if I'm thinking with my head and hoping to win our pool at work, I'm still rooting for Arizona, Kansas and UCLA. But if I go with my heart, I'm rooting for Gonzaga, Butler and Xavier.
I am making exceptions to my general rule in the East. Two reasons: 1) I cannot stand Baylor; and 2) as Chick said, if South Carolina advances it takes a little of the sting out of Marquette's loss. Perhaps more importantly, I really hate Wisconsin, Florida and Baylor.
-
I bought Gonzaga and Florida in our neighborhood Calcutta, so my pocketbook is rooting for those teams.
-
Gonzaga and Butler
-
Xavier. It's fun to see them playing well again, plus I like the idea of a) having a national champion from the Big East who is not Villanova and B) being able to say we beat the national champion twice this year. Not likely to happen, but it would be fun.
After that, Butler, Purdue and Whoever Beats Bucky.
And UCLA, who tops my bracket and is just about the only pick I have left right now. And I admire how Lonzo Ball ignores all questions about his father and just plays kick-a$$ basketball.

One thing i like about lonzo ball is that he knows he's good but doesn't act like he is. I don't know how to explain it but he doesn't celebrate after every shot and isn't cocky like a lot of players

Good for us, going for the low hanging fruit

Big East, obviously. But I have to root for Huggy... I have a newfound respect for Huggy ever since he started making out with De'Sean on the floor during the semis in 2010.
https://www.youtube.com/v/ruHQzO6N75c
I did a complete 180 on Huggy that day... so as long as MU has been eliminated, I'm rooting for Huggy to get his NCAA title.
-
I'm definitely not rooting for the Cuck Skunks, that's for sure
-
Xavier and their urn.

Love Bobby Huggins...also love to drink with Bobby Huggins at Turners.

I find myself rooting for Butler and South Carolina, and I have both teams going to the Final Four in my new "mulligan bracket."
Once there, I have Butler losing to Kansas and SC losing to Arizona. And I have Kansas winning the national title.
Given my "success" in my earlier bracket, I highly recommend everybody take second mortgages on their houses and bet it all on these picks.

late to this thread....but just commenting on the conference distribution.
s16 = 3 each from Pac12,Big10,SEC,Big12...2 from BEAST, 1-ACC, 1-WCC
now with 1 day down...the Elite 8 could have 7 different conferences.
Of course I hope Butler puts the ACC out of its misery.
I also don't want any conference to have 3 so SEC cant have SC,KU,FL all win. So generally rooting for UCLA,SC,UW (only because I dislike FL more than UW).
The main point is the conference parity and Kudos to the X-men and Butler for their good showing for our league!

I'm curious, why the Gator hate? Personally, if UW was playing the Monstars and the fate of the planet rested on them winning, I'd be cheering for Earth's destruction, but to each their own.
-
It goes back to the Donovan era...that irrational dislike for success. And Gator football!...don't get me started.
Nothing rational here...Gators, Duke, UNC, Ohio State and UW...wish they would all crash and burn.
funny Bama Football does not draw my ire.
and Notre Dame football came off my list due to a few years of humble pie!
I am awful!
