The Haiku thread, part deux
« on: September 04, 2010, 07:06:10 AM »
In honor of the safe return of warthog (thank you for your service and welcome back) how about some haiku?

Too many young guys
much talent, but use caution
predictions pointless

Optimism abounds
Potential is limitless
Patience is required.

Everybody enjoy your holiday.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Tom Crean sucks!  Not so!
Go Warriors!  We are Eagles!
This will help recruit.

I just thought that this thread should resemble all the others.

I pray to our God.
Let this haiku thread die here.
This will help recruit.

A Day In The Life: Afghanistan Operations

insistent alarm
a solitary cocoon
alone in the dark

up with the sunset
coffee, bach, her last letter
wartime solitude

briefing theater
intel, weather, munitions
it's time once again

red tinged horizon
stern daedalian warning
dangerous portent

jet fuel...clanging wrench
cold oxygen filling lungs
suddenly airborne

ground rushing below
raging beneath the tree tops
adrenaline rush

red flickering light
banal signal of my plight
man versus machine

hydraulic failure
mechanical dilemma
too low...please...not now

paktika below
hills swarming with taliban
this is not my day

bathed in a cold sweat
every fiber alive
a moment so clear

the field is in view
goodyear's scorch the centerline
a wave of calm...peace

Since traditional haiku poetry is written about nature....

Many ash, birch, oak
Need a redwood in the paint
But not a project
