Next year's tournaments
« on: February 12, 2018, 09:10:38 AM »
Are we participating in any preseason or any tournaments next year. I remember a long time ago there was talk about participating in a tournament at the ESPN complex in Disney. Is this still happening?

Thanks and sorry if I missed this in other recent threads

Louisville might be the weak one in that tourney.

Kansas is Kansas and brings in a whale of a recruiting class.

Tennessee is a top 15 team this year (remember when scoopers were insisting that Purdue losing to "garbage" Tennessee meant that we sucked?) and will only their 6th man to graduation (I wonder how Texas fans though Rick Barnes would be doing better at this point than Shaka).

We are a bubble team who will lose one player to graduation and bring in a solid class.

Louisville is a bubble team (though better than us) who will lose two starters to graduation and has zero incoming recruits at this point. Plus, the looming investigation may cause some players to transfer.

They will want Louisville and Kansas in the final so they will put them opposite of each other. I hope they put us against Louisville (in hopes that Louisville can get past us) and Kansas against Tennessee. Could mean getting out of NYC with a win and a loss to a likely #1 seed (or a possible upset victory!).

The one I'd love to play in someday is the Honolulu tournament that takes place around Xmas time.

I'm always looking for an excuse to go to Hawaii, and that fits the open dates on my HS basketball schedule.

Make it so, MU!

(Having said that, I might actually be able to go to this NIT event. I will if I can!)
