At one point, Sandy was considered our best defender, able to guard multiple positions. Averaged 1.3 steals per game at Marquette in just under 20 minutes a game. He's also a good to above-average defensive rebounder for his size.
While he rarely looked for his own shot, Sandy's most reliable offense was beyond the arc — shooting 33.3% as a freshman and 35.5% as a sophomore.
Athleticism and team focus are strengths. Hopefully Sandy uses the year off to build some muscle and work on his offense (developing a mid-range jumper and scoring off the drive).
