Jersey Question
« on: December 09, 2007, 10:50:16 AM »
Hello Board.

An MU grad here long before most of you were born.

The jerseys this year appear to pay homage to the earlier colorful jerseys of the Memminger era. (The color scheme on the collar.)

Is there an anniverary this year that precipitated the tribute?

Second, I seem to remember that someone in the past posted some of the old colorful jerseys on this site.  Anyone with a link.

Thanks for the help.

Go warr..., I mean Golden Eagles.  We look tough this year.

Please say warriors if it is what you want to. It's a pretty good split between Warriors and the bird here.  As for the jerseys, here's the link to an older thread that explains it a little.

Thanks.

This is a definite tribute.

Now, if I could only see those bumble bee jerseys again just one more time.

Have fun this season.

I liked the mid-late-90s jerseys with the arrowheads on the side.  Sorry, no pic.

Those were also throwbacks.

It was indeed a throwback.  The 20th anniversery of the 1977 team

Didn't realize.  Interesting that they'd have arrowheads, even though they were the Golden Eagles in '97.

They were identical to the 1977 jerseys I believe except Warriors was replaced with Marquette.

Nope.  The 1977 jersey also said Marquette on the front.
