A person posted this question on Reddit and it got me wondering. If all else in their career trajectory happened as it did at MU who hurt the most leaving?

Obvious answer is Sam

Other contenders are Deonte and McKay, Maymon probably Mbakwe

Garcia & Joey, put up decent numbers but seemed way over ranked in HS. Haanif & Christopherson got pretty good their final years but were average prior. Taylor did well in the mid majors his last year.

Who else truly hurt leaving and watching their success elsewhere? (Non grad transfer)

Jameel’s departure was an omen for that season.

Would have been nice to have Mbkawe but I’m not sure how those rosters are different if he stays.

It’s Sam, though his departure hastened the end of the Wojo era.  Odartey is probably a close second

So Hards's new standard is protestors he agrees with can hit people all they like as long as they don't hurt them is protected by the First Amendment.

They attacked her, and counter-protestors came to her aid; you cannot see what insanity you are arguing for?

You're so incredibly stupid, and you think you're so incredibly smart.  Her friends pulled her from approaching the barricades in a crouch.  She lost her balance and hit her head.  There is video of this.  I don't need a standard when I can see what happened.  You'll fall for any lie to try to create a narrative in your head.  As usual, your knee jerk reaction to get some sort of 'own' ends up being a self own.

She's as full of crap as you are for believing her story you absolute rube.

Rough night for Pat Beverly

Oh man, that's gonna cost him. A lot. Jae was in there trying to keep him from spending even more money.

Odartey would have helped in 2004.

Not a transfer but LeDarryl killed me.

JD 1994, Indiana University. Unlike your degree from the google school of law. Different jurisdictions have different definitions for assault and/or battery. I would venture to say all jurisdictions would agree that chanting from the river to the sea would not constitute an assault. The imminent harm element is not there.

Exactly.  It's quite literally why no one has been arrested for free speech.

NASP is a titanically stupid person.  Should really replace the word Serious with Smart in his profile.

Contraction isn’t the answer for baseball or any other sport. There is plenty of talent around.

Brother Hippie:

I agree there is plenty of "talent" around, but not enough MAJOR LEAGUE talent. That's where I think the problem is. The pitching is just atrocious

Part of the problem is money, I agree. To retain talent, whether out of high school or college, takes huge bonuses and lots of development costs. Then, once they become arbitration eligible, you're screwed financially because arbitrators have been conditioned to look at home runs and batting average. And, to the romantic notion that somehow baseball will get a salary cap -- not going to happen in my or your lifetime!

Basically, you have to sell about 2.5 million tickets to be competitive and 3.5 million to consistently contend. Even then, the Cardinals are proving this year that with bad management and poor player development, a team can S-U-C-K, suck!

My nominees for contraction are Oakland, Kansas City (also having a stadium battle), Tampa Bay (stadium). At this point, it gets tough. I'd argue for Pittsburgh on grounds that even with the best stadium in the majors, it can't support a winner. From there, it's a crap shoot, but I'd surely keep Miami, Denver, Phoenix, all of which should be able with good ownership to be winnders.

Maybe we need to fire and replace owners!

I don't love buybacks. The often are executed when the stock price is overvalued rather than undervalued, and they mostly benefit the largest shareholders - in other words, upper management and institutions.

As for AAPL's buyback, I have a decent-sized stake - thanks Douchey! - but I really won't benefit much. Personally, I'd have preferred a larger dividend increase.

The buyback IS a major reason why the stock price is well higher today IMHO, because it wasn't really a great earnings report.

One of the more interesting reports this week was turned in by Amgen, which talked about progress with the weight-loss drug it's working on. That helped push the price up 13%, which is pretty wild. It's one of my bigger holdings (though not quite as large as AAPL), so I'm not disappointed.

Fallout was fun. Another case of enjoying a show I didn't even know was based on a video game until well into the season.

Though post-apocalyptic like The Last Of Us, the similarity mostly ends there. It's not as good as TLOU - but few series have been, so that's not really criticism.

The always-great Walton Goggins plays a central character with an interesting backstory, and the two other leads are good too. Fallout is  gory as hell, but it's also funny quite often. Recommend.
