Having a decent game so far, should be an exciting game once again.  East won in OT in their last meeting earlier this year.  They just showed Buzz in attendance as well.

Huge game, and Vander is playing awesome.  Hit back to back 3's to end the 3rd quarter.  Memorial up going into the 4th

Vander finishes with 21 and 12 in a 56-49 win.

nice win for the spartans.....I believe these teams will meet again in the sectional final.

I think it may be hard for Vander to win Mr. Basketball without a trip to State, but that's just me.

Who would be another top candidate besides Blue? I don't know much about WI high school basketball.

This year's a tough one.

The problem is that historically the Mr. Basketball award goes to the best player on the best team in the state, with the qualification being that the guy is a senior(only seniors can win).  So if the best team doesn't have a senior that is a great player, all bets are off.  Two years ago Maymon was the best player on the best team, but only a junior so he couldn't get it.  Instead of giving it to Korie Lucious who was the best senior, it went to DeMarcus Phillips, in a decision that still doesn't make much sense.

Right now, the best team in the state is Milwaukee Hamilton, but they don't have a senior on their roster.  So the award could go to Vander, but he's not having a dominating season.  It could go to Josh Gasser who is committed to Wisconsin, but he doesn't play for a great team.

It would not shock me if they did a split award this year like the year that Christopherson and Nankivil split it, just because there is no clear cut winner.
