Parra for Davies sounds close to a #donedeal

Sounds like its done. This is one of the better weeks Doug Melvin has had in a while.

Broxton to Cardinals

The Brewers will receive minor-league outfielder Malik Collymore from St. Louis in exchange for the two-time All-Star who, incidentally, was acquired by Milwaukee last August in a trade with the Cincinnati Reds.

The 31-year-old has struggled mightily this season, managing a 5.89 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP over 40 appearances despite posting his best strikeout rate (23.7 percent) since 2010, when he earned his second All-Star appearance. Broxton, a second-round pick in 2002, has a $9-million mutual option for next season with a $2-million buyout.

Low level prospect, and I assume the Brewers are sending some money, but to get any sort of return, is a win. Plus, with any luck, he'll make the cardinals worse this year. But knowing them, he'll suddenly turn into Trevor Hoffman.

Sounds like they will cover the buyout next season
