Harvard's got a $50+ billion endowment. It needs Bill Ackman's money about as much as you need a boost to your sense of self importance.

Then why did they borrow $1.5 billion when interest rates are at a 16-year high?

We need to get our act together.

It’ll take the NBA being largely foreign players and starting to consistently lose international competitions for that to happen.

I’m not sure there’s a movement afoot to change the American approach to basketball developmental models.  The answer isn’t college basketball.  There are few coaches I’d actually trust to develop players into more skilled basketball players.

The idea that Harvard needs Bill Ackman is hilarious.

Typical Heisey nonsense.

Good chunk of the reason.  Basketball development in this country is poor.  Much too fragmented

Harvard is fine for now. But if things stay the same for Griffin, Blavatnik, and Ackman do not restart shoveling money into the schools, this will become a real problem.

Why?  Poor fundamentals in the USA youth  leagues?

International players, elite players, are playing much better competition at younger ages.

Inertia.

I bought my shares well before Musk became distracted by and/or obsessed with fighting social wars.

Although I don’t really have that many shares of TSLA, yes, I probably should have sold them. But I’m a long-term investor who really hates selling anything. While I believe that philosophy has served me well over the years, every once in a while buy-and-hold does burn me.

I do believe that Tesla can still “win” in the EV realm if Elon will stop getting in his company’s way. Pissing off almost your entire customer base isn’t the best business model, however.

So if he won’t act in the best interest of TSLA shareholders, it’s up to shareholders to use the votes we’ve earned.

Mike

I understand “buy and hold” as an overall plan or philosophy. In general I support it. But if I was holding a stock and I thought the principal owner was an out of control bigot driving the company into the ground I would choose selling over voting to protest a bonus. To me, that decision would be easy.
