Incredible improvement since the start of the season.  Now the challenge is sustaining it.

Juan

I disagree. I think from day one this team was better prepared and ready for action vs a year ago. From the opening tip the defense looked like it had far more purpose than a year ago and they have had a crazy number of shots from day one. That being said, the performance last night is one of the program's all time great performances.

Since we're picking nits and making the place toxic.  Is a blow out win over a top 10 team such a common occurrence that some of the sweater vests felt the need to leave early?  I get that the result was no longer in doubt but the amount of people streaming out at the under 8 and under 4 was shocking, stay and enjoy the win.

Even worse when 85% of people are not back in their seats when the second half starts. Not only is it rude to the 15% of people that are in their seats, it also gives the away team a slightly better chance to set the tone for the second half.

I don’t care either way what people do, but to me that is more mind boggling than people leaving in a blowout with 2 minutes to go.

This 59y fan watched every second of the game and hung around watching the guys celebrate and Shaka high five the students.

Is this where we are supposed to register our complaints?

- Why is O-Max not yet pictured as our SOTG
- Why did we get slighted by ESPN with no article about the upset
- Why did Shaka put in the walk-ons and blow our 30pt lead

Of course.

BUT DA TRAFFIC.

I'm with ya. There was no way I was leaving early.

Not only did a decent amount stay late, it looked like more than a few hit up the local establishments for a night cap. Definitely a lot of excitement leaving the arena last night.

It was also an Admirals bobble head game downtown. Nice to see it hopping.

One nit to pick. No MU marketing email celebrating the win and offering a ticket deal for the Creighton game. They are also in the Top 10…
The Marketing Dept. must be reading Scoop, the email celebrating the win and offering a ticket deal for Creighton just went out.

After the win last night, I can't believe they haven't offered a free nacho bar for Marquette fans to before  the Wisconsin game

That'd be a cheesey promotion.

They said during the broadcast that Gold's parents were at the game.   The kid had to show off a little.   Awesome.

That's great his folks were there. Too bad Tre Norman and his recruit teammate weren't there for this one. I thought it was very cool that Justin Lewis, Dwight Buycks, Junior Cadougan, JJJ and Joe Chapman were there. Nice showing.

Loved those shooting shirts!!!! The game wasn't bad either.

To be fair, many people come from Chicagoland. If I made the drive I'd have left then too

It was smooth sailing back to Chicago last night. No way I was leaving early after that performance.

It's great to pick up a big win like that to grab the casual fan base's attention and should really kick start the energy for Saturday and beyond.

Yep. Lots of happy Marquette fans seen driving down 94. Door to door into Lakeview was a breeze (not a pun about the wind that was gusting). hope to see a lot more friendly faces for the game this weekend!

I remember George Thompson and I can tell you he is smiling down on Marquette tonight. This is a special say in Marquette's history.

This was the very first thing Shaka addressed at postgame.

“I really felt like we needed to win tonight to honor George,” Smart said. “If you make it George Thompson Night, you couldn't lose.”

Love it.

My badger boss asked me why the FF was only 30% full last night when WI sold out. Both listed 14,000, a co-worker works at FF and he said 10K were expected but just over 12K walked through the doors.

More focused on attendence than results?

You should tell your boss that if more bosses gave hardworking people off on Wednesdays like they do on Saturdays that maybe the numbers would look different.

As a former four year intramural athlete at Marquette I am thrilled with that performance last night.
Back-to-back intramural championships here. You?

The back-to-back exempts me from having to attend the game in person BTW.
