MU WINS. JAMES A STUD
« on: January 15, 2007, 07:57:39 PM »
Shot selection aside, James was feeling it.  He played like a warrior.  MU got a little sloppy at the two-three minute mark, but a win at Freedom Hall is awesome.  Well done team!

A minute before the game, I announced to my wife that we were going to win.  My son hadn't spit up on me all day, and he had just burped and could have unloaded on my fresh gold MU shirt, but did not.   Right there, I knew we were gonna win.

Unreal.  MU is rolling.  Heaps of confidence.  They'll be absolutely pumped for the showdown @Pitt.

I was very impressed with MU's big guys in the first half.  Barro looked like he could have gone for 40 points after about 10 in the first 10 minutes.  Louisville locked down inside more later (and cut off the passing lanes better), but anybody that still thinks MU's big guys haven't improved weren't watching the first half.

Glad to see Kinsella get some meaningful minutes.  Not "awesome", but not bad either.  After his last injury I pretty much counted him out for the season.  He may provide good minutes after all.

Losing McNeal for several minutes hurt MU in the 2nd half - he adds more than his turnovers take away.  Disappointed with the press break at the end, but we did get the W - and the team (mostly McNeal) nailed FTs at the end - so I can't complain.

Two great wins on the road in the BE, and one against a GOOD WVU team.  Now...lets go and give Pitt our best!  Play to our potential and we can win.

Playing with an edge, and attitude.  McNeal can be a killer with the ball.  Too many turnovers, but all around great effort.

Dumping the ball inside loosens the D and makes it easier to shoot from deep.  Fitz hit a couple of shots (his first points in January) and that helps his confidence.

I predict a close win in Pitt next Saturday.

Weird stat of the night:  Wesley 3-4 from the arc.  Did NOT see that coming.  Outstanding work from the big three and Oooooze this evening.

And how about our free throw percentage?  Very nice progress in that area, 82% tonight.

They were all studs, though Jerel nearly gave me a heart attack on my 56th birthday. There are few things sweeter than watching UL fans silently skulk out of the building.

According to the link, the page was last updated 1/15. Not sure how accurate that is, though. If it is accurate - yikes. Not only does he not have MU in the tourney, but he doesn't even have them in the last eight out.

Don't worry, collegerpi has us in and at a 6th seed.  Lunardi is behind the 8 ball right now on this.  He'll catch up in a day or two.

Lunardi said and espn news that we were an 8 seed. I think that he just screwed up and put the wrong team in his bracket. (villanova??)

records are updated daily in bracketology, but seedings are only updated every wednesday morning right now.  our last three wins were not taken into account...
