Buzz Williams finally figuring out his team

Part of Buzz Williams’ annual schtick has been to let reporters know his teams, for lack of a better word, suck. Nearly one year ago Williams told reporters “we’re not a good team” after his Golden Eagles scored 89 points in a win against DePaul to move them to 8-2 in the Big East. Nice thoughtful, up-beat story.

It does seem that Coach Williams has figured out (finally) how to make this team play like Warriors. Actually, it seems the turn around has been slow, but might have begun in the over-time win at G'town and the over-time loss to Villanova. (It seems the over-time loss to Butler was the moment the team hit bottom.)

Anyway, the last two games the Warriors have been (finally) fun to watch. Having taken the club house turn, the stretch drive ought to interesting and fun.

feel like we've heard this a few times already this year. i'll believe it when i see it.

3 wins in our last 4 games is good, but we also blew enormous leads in all 3, or had to have some ridiculous comeback to get it done - against some pretty bad teams.

the only thing that gives me some hope is that i think we will be better in our second matchup with teams we already lost to - Xavier, Nova and Creighton.

still, not buying that this team has turned any kind of corner yet. let's see how they play on Sat and go from there...
