Game 23: Providence

Providence, R.I. -- How much carryover will the Marquette Golden Eagles' 70-68 victory at Connecticut last weekend -- their first road triumph on the season -- have on Saturday?

A lot, they're clearly hoping. Because there's no denying that this game, against the Providence Friars at the Dunkin' Donuts Center, is shaping up to be a big one -- for both teams.

"It's the first one we've had in a long time, so hopefully when we land in Rhode Island Friday afternoon, they'll think that we can win in a state other than Connecticut.," said coach Buzz Williams. "I think there's some carryover, but there's no carryover unless you do what you have to do on both ends of the floor.
