Junior high holiday band concert.  Game on dvr.  Chat amongst yourselves.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

I would have guessed you were at least in senior high.

The only thing worse at this time of year is the ballet.
If they were doing word association with me and their word was interminable, my response would be “nutcracker.”

In hindsight, I probably celebrated too much after my second daughter’s last grade school “program”.  Sometimes it’s hard to hide happiness.

Don’t look forward to those days.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Marquette wins over a solid Vermont squad.

Rowsey bounced back well.

Markus with (another) career night.

Sam needs to pick it up. Not that he's playing poorly. I just want him to make more of an impact

Hauser went 17/6/4...with zero turnovers.  That's plenty impactful.

F it. Let’s go full on Paul Westhead.  LMU era, minus death.

Sacar plus freshmen really starting to get the feel of the college game.  Really played well tonight.

Here's an effort:
1.  Vermont is a good team and this was a nice test
2.  Howard can score almost at will.  Hard to imagine how he sticks around a full 4 years.
3.  At the end of the first half when we needed a stop, there were 3 frosh on the floor... and Cain got the block.
4.  Hauser had the quietest 17 ever
5.  Rowsey with the best "eff you I can play point guard" 10 assists
6.  If you can't play D, you need to out-score the other guys!

I agree with Sacar, he played a lot of minutes tonight with Vermont going small.  Cain probably played more minutes than Elliott and was great, even though he missed two open threes.  Finally congrats on Theo, made two great offensive baskets and only two fouls.

Agreed.

Liked what I saw from Cain tonight.

A couple or really nice moves from Theo in the first half as well.

+ 1

We had a thread on this last season.  The number of under 6 foot players drafted in the last few years is practically zero.

He has NBA scoring ability but will get abused on the defensive end.

What I'm most worried about is if Howard will be 100% on Saturday. He's in for a crapty couple days with that tailbone injury. Someone on campus needs to be on donut watch.

Same advantage is that he will still be young for a Senior

Ya ever been to a 5th grade track meet?  40 seconds of racing over 5 hours.

I thought the offense was great.  Maybe 10 ill-advised shots at most all night.  Made the extra pas and shared the ball.  That will bode well for the rest of the season.

I didn't think Hauser's points were "quiet."  I thought he played well.  Defense was pretty good (for us).

Best stretch we've seen from Theo John, too, I think.

I was thinking while watching that while we may not be all that good, we are fun to watch.

* I thought the defense was improved despite giving up 81 points.  Vermont is talented and play smart, thought our effort was there
* Really surprised at those calling for more from Sam.  17 points, 70% shooting, nice mix of 3's and some difficult mid-range shots, rebounds, assists...
* Theo -- Points > Fouls! FTs maybe no matta, but his FT technique is poor (really high arc).  Needs FTing tips from Heldt
* Markus, he's pretty OK
