Here's Crean on his sick day with the flu.  Makes you wonder why he's leaning out the car window.

Second, a guy as PR conscious at Crean wouldn't intentionally do something so detrimental to his public image.

You mean like repeatedly lie about MU's NCAA appearances, their attendance before his arrival, record attendance announcements during games, the "record" number of weeks we were ranked, etc.? He would never intentionlly lie about something. You're right.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cause you know for a fact Tom Crean persoanlly has been responsible for every false statement ever printed about Marquette basketball. Jay Bilas told you so, right?

This whole being sick thing is garbage.  Being sick does not change the way things are handled....there's the right way, the marginal way and the wrong way.  The players not finding out from Crean first was the wrong way...Crean not telling Cottingham or anyone else in the admininstration that just gave him a 10 year extension along with every other resource he asked for to be successful is the wrong way.  How anyone here can stand with Crean any of this is unbelievable.  He's gone, did nice things for the program....it's time to bury his name as history and begin writing a new chapter.

Who is responsible for Tom Crean's statements? I'm confused.

Did Gerry Howard make that 7,200 attendance figure before Crean arrived up out of thin air? Or did he get it from jackass himself?

I asked him. Can you guess the answer?

To the best of my knowledge, not one of those "statements" has ever been attributed to Crean.

The lowest MU has averaged in home attendance over the last 20+ is just under 10,000 the first year Crean was here I believe.....I will certainly not stand for Crean to sit there and try to inflate his accomplishments and ego anymore at IU than he already has.  If I hear the Coffee, Crean and Doughnuts story one more time I'm going to puke.

Um, he said it on TMJ himself on Thursday night. If he physically says it on the radio is it still attributable to him?

Garry Howard himself told me directly that Crean quoted that attendance figure to him. That is an ironclad fact.

Not trying to make Marquette94 puke, but Brian Hamilton of the Tribune told me that Crean gave him the Coffee, Crean, and Donughts anecdote as well.

Then Howard should have said so in his article. AND, he SHOULD HAVE listed the correct figure. Howard was lazy.

If you look closely he's got a PEN in his hand.  Is he really that full of himself that he's giving out autographs at that point???

Says he plans on being at graduation ceremonies for Brice, Barro and Fitz.  Curious to see if he actually has the chutzpah to do that.

He let it be known that if Izzo had left for the NBA several yrs ago when he was hotter, he would have been interested.

I love what he did for the Warriors, but it's time to move on.

Go Warriors. Go Buzz.

Just a thought, but one real culprit here is IU.
1) No courtesy contact with MU to talk to Crean
2) They forced the timing and made Crean decide immediately.  Low class in my opinion - they should have let him have more time to try to button things up the right way.  With the fact they didn't, Crean was in the middle.  Do the right thing and postpone the decision and get IU to buy into that, or bolt.

Anyway, I am thinking Buzz from now on.

IU is not the culprit here.  Their search had been on for weeks.  They did not pressure Crean for an immediate decision, the search had been on for weeks. Crean initiated contact. As IU will find out, IU is the victim.
