No to besmirch our head coach, but I suspect OU is going to aim a whole bunch higher than Buzz, at least at first.

I really don't see Buzz's body of work being compelling enough for Oklahoma to pick up Buzz they took a chance on Capel out of VCU after they upset Duke I believe and that team's performance as a whole during his short tenure. The guy is young as is Buzz (especially in coaching tenure) and I would think OK is going for someone a little more experienced because they don't wanna get screwed with a "prospect coach" which I still think Buzz has proven to be.

This is good ... and if MU pays to keep him (and we do pay), then he should be able to go for the next level of recruit.

No Anthony Grant was at VCU when they beat Duke.

They just made the Elite 8 three years ago.

In many respects, I think Pakuni is right.  We can argue ad nauseum about what was left in the cupboard, whether we needed to take as many JUCOs, etc, etc.

A fan from afar is going to see his record dropping each of the three years, only one NCAA tournament win, declining finishes in the conference and they're going to question if we're heading the wrong direction.  It's how fans operate.  So I think many fans will have that point of view.  Whether Oklahoma does, who knows.

I'm pretty sure they didn't make the Elite Eight three years ago.
Regardless, the team that beat Duke was coached by Grant, but they were Capel's players.

Just watched Brad Galli's interview with Buzz in the big apple.   Anything is possible, but I just don't see that guy in the interview leaving.    Probably naivete on my part.

Actually it was only two years ago.  They lost to UNC the year that the Heels beat Michigan State in the final.

OK, I think we're talking about different teams.
When you wrote about Anthony Grant at VCU an then said "they were in the Elite Eight three years ago" I presumed the "they" was VCU. I'm guessing you meant Oklahoma, right?
