Wisconsin team picture
« on: November 29, 2009, 05:29:02 PM »
Was reading onmilwaukee.com today, obviously I was extremely bored and had nothing better to do, and saw this picture of the Wisconsin BB team relaxing while in Maui.  Not trying to start a p***ing a match with our rivals to the west but that is a disproportionate number of farm boys on a D1 basketball team.

You can always photo shop a token black guy in.  I think they're pretty good with that.

What do you mean?  There aren't any "farm boys" on the Wisconsin roster.

We shouldn't throw stones. If I get a chance, I will show you a card they handed out 2 years ago where they photoshop an african american into our student section

Yup, that's the UW-Madison doctored image.  I believe the implication is that MU did this....I'd like to see it.

Do you guys honestly believe Marquette is so above Madison that they wouldn't do this? Both are great schools and both have their faults.

I mean atleast Wisconsin's looked good. There's was only found out later when the real photo surfaced. This one left everyone at the game second guessing the Comm School and wondering how they can't get people that are better at photoshop working for them.

My gosh, Photoshop 101 kids, priceless

However Wisconsin plays Duke, the announcers will have to rub their eyes to believe who's on the court.

I know a lot of folks at MU that produce these brochures....I'll email them tomorrow to see if this is accurate...if they have the negative or the original true raw image.

If they did doctor it, shame on MU.

yikes.

doesn't look good.

but, in all honesty, that "picture" looks like it could be a composite where several people have been added. Look at the dude in the white MU shirt under the 2007. It looks like he was added too.

As someone who oversees this department for a four-year, public university, we won't even allow our publications staff to touch up anyone's photo to get rid of blemishes, etc.

This is very disappointing.  There was a number of ethics questions brought up after Wisconsin's issue surfaced, and MU seemed to have ignored those.

What is the point of this thread? Who cares what the makeup of Duke or Wisconsin's team is? How ridiculous.

Hahaha THATS NOT PHOTOSHOPPED!

That black guy is one of the Bradly Center ushers who is in section 116 for almost every game.  That is a legit picture.

Come on guys!

I knew he looked familiar!  I was just confused as to how he fit in with the less than enthusiastic look and lack of participation in the cheering, but now it all makes sense.

If you see the actual card, you can tell it's photoshopped. The lighting is different and his head appears out of nowhere. You telling me an usher is randomly staring in a middle of a row that does not exist. Not saying he isn't an usher, but it was definitely photshopped in.

Except that the whole thing is a collage and is photoshopped together.

If you can't see that, I don't know what to tell you.

Yes, but the main photo isn't. What were their intentions in adding an usher to the card? All the other photoshop work is done in the background or the side. They added him right in the center and does not add to craziness the rest of the theme shows.

Yes.  His name is Anthony and he generally stands wherever he can find room.  He's a good guy.

Tony! Loved that guy. He'd come up a few minutes before tip and high-five everyone and make sure we were ready.

Typically the rows tend to overlap the aisle during play, so I can see it.

there is no "main photo".  There are several of them stuck together.  No one, except someone who was stupid, or trying to spin this one way (you maybe?) would think that there is a "main picture".

People's eyes are the dead give away aside from the SIZE of everyone.

You really think this was something that was accidental?  Look at the yellow guy on the right half of the photo... I suppose he was photoshopped in with the intent of adding diversity too?

please.

Also why would they intentionally photoshop a 30 something usher into a photo when they could photoshop a 20 something student into it?

Hell the season tickets this year have a photo of the crowd and you can see Avery in the front row.  Do you think he was photoshopped in too?

This is not a case of a black face being stuck in a white crowd shot.  THis is a whole bunch of people and random arms being added into a crowd shot.  That kid at the top with the hat on backwards the arms on the top left, seems to be more of those than there are people.  I don't think that throwing a whole bunch of crowd shots into one picture is the same as adding one black head into an otherwise untouched photo.
