Any good movies out there?  Thinking about seeing  The Fighter or True Grit.  Which ones better?

I want to see both, but I've heard The Fighter is one of the best sports movies of the decades.

I saw Tron in IMAX and it was incredible.

Haven't seen True Grit. Saw The Fighter last week and for me it knocked The Social Network out of the #1 movie of the year spot. Interesting (on many levels) true story with great acting. Solid 3.75 stars.

The Fighter is incredible.  Also enjoyed True Grit.   Both are very good.  For action, I'd take the Fighter.  For more storyline, I'd go True Grit (it's a remake, of course, so if you have already seen it you know the story).

Thanks for the insight.  Sounds like I'll have to see both of them at some point.     Probably will go with True Grit.

Saw True Grit yesterday.  It was good, but not great.  I consider myself to be a pretty decent judge of movies.  Jeff Bridges was great, the little girl was better, but the plot was meh.

My niece (my sister's youngest daughter) tried out for the part of the girl.  Very talented.

Thought the movie was fairly true to the original John Wayne version.

I heard that this one is more true to the book than the john wayne movie was.

The girl in True Grit uses the term 'writ of replevin' and she bargains over a casket (just because we're bereaved doesn't make us saps.)

However, The Fighter coins the phrase 'MTV girl.'

It's a tough call.

The John Wayne version sucked compared to this one.  Bridges>>>>>>>>>>>Wayne.

Yeah, not a great performance by the Duke.  I think he won the Oscar because they thought he would die before he had another chance.  This was in the phase of his career when all his characters ran together.  Kind of where DeNiro is now.

Saw True Grit....didn't think it was all that great.

I agree the girl was phenomenal, Bridges was good.   Story line and dialogue sucked.

Thanks Carl..I like french fried taters as well....

Another great movie.

The best part of the Fighter were those nasty sisters.  Best movie of 2010.  I remember those Gatti/Ward fights.. wish that would have been part of the movie.

Tron was pretty good.  Some of the best 3d since avatar.

True grit was great.  Loved every scene.  Every line of dialog.  Every actor.  Great movie.

Liked black swan more than I thought.  If your wife/gf/crazy-hot-chick-you-want-to-do is interested in going you should go.

I like Natalie Portman.  but i'll probably just wait til it shows up on netflix.

true grit looked good; was it reminiscent at all of 3:10 to Yuma?

True Grit - (preface: haven't seen the Wayne version) great story telling; a bit choppy cinematic editing last 1/4 of the movie; the girl (Jake Steinfeld's niece) is awesome.

Tron Legacy - watched in 3D with XD (moving seats); cool flick; really took a nice interpretation of post-Tron age; seems like a sequel is already in the making; couldn't believe that was the chick from House (looks better in the movie); 3D was cool during some parts; What?!? No TANKS?!?; am not going to use any Matrix comparisons or allusions to describe Tron. Let it be.

King's Speech - great movie; enjoyed Geoffrey Rush's portrayal more than Colin Firth's; funny movie; usual awesome British royalty depictions.

Love and Other Drugs - a solidly good movie. Hathaway does a great job and Gyllenhaal is equally compelling.

The Fighter, Black Swan, Tangled, Narnia - haven't seen. want to.
