Does anyone know where I can find attendance numbers for MLB games? I'm wondering if there were more people at the game at Miller Park yesterday than were at the Brewer's Marlins game down in Miami. The stands just looked empty down in FL.

If you're looking for a more hilarious comparison, look at the Brewers second-home game this year compared to the 19,031 that showed up for the Tribe.

Then look at the ticket prices and you'll know why. Either way, Milwaukee has done well with this situation.

The Brewers home game had 22,000+

The majority of those tik holders were paying 3-4 times as much as last night's.

I bought tickets for tonights game not because I am a huge baseball fan but I get great field seats for my family of 5 (3 kids aged 3 to 7) for $50 instead of the $100 I would normally have to dish out for decent seats.

That's worth it. ($50) I live in Atlanta and went to the Braves/Mets game last weekend and spent nearly $300 to park, see the game with my brothers and dad, and eat dinner. I mean come on!! That's insane!! I wonder how I'll ever be able to take my family to the game when that time comes. And the seats we had were way out in Right field. (I even scalpped the tickets to save $4 per ticket) I could go on and on but baseball, to me, isn't even that exciting. I'd much rather go and see a football or basketball game but that's even more expensive...ok I've had my vent for the day

I just paid $8.50 for that same beer at Dodger Stadium last night. In addition...
$220 for 4 seats
$15 for parking
$40 for 4 Dodger Dogs and 4 Sodas
$12 for kid's ice cream

Although, If you're willing to sit in the right field bleachers, it's $35 and all you can eat Dogs, nachos, popcorn, crackerjacks and sodas.

Hey, if you want to start something at a game, make sure your team didn't just lose 2/3 at home to the fan of the team you're poking at. Also, come up with something better than "CUBS SUCK", I think they were UWM students though....

Parking split 4 ways: $2
Brat: $4
Rushing to McDonald's for affordable double cheeseburgers after the game: $3

I'm a poor college student. You just can't put a price on Opening Day at Wrigley. Just like you can't put a price on a hot summer day at Wrigley. Or a spot in the United Center to see Michael Jordan. Or a spot to see Favre hand the Bears their asses on New Years Eve.

I completely agree, PTM. If I had the opportunity for Opening Day at Wrigley, I would have been there in a second. And obviously, on a day like that, you can't worry about holding back the cash. But I'm not a Brewers fan (CUBS), it was simply a game to be a fan of baseball.

I am hoping to go to Wrigley sometime this summer for the first time. I am in the Milwaukee area and do not know my way around Chicago very well - where's the best place to hop on the train down to Wrigley coming from Milwaukee?

All the talk about $$ .. that's why I'm not a big fan of Miller Park. Sure, it's a grand facility.

But anyone remember going to County Stadium, easily getting a bleacher seat for $5?

Sure it was dingy .. so what. Those seats were great, the grass was green, really felt like you were in a park, watching a game. Miller Park? Modern and wonderful, sure. At a giant cost.

Miller Park wasn't built so you could tinkle into a wonderful new urinal with no waiting, or get great varieties of food. It was built to separate more $$ from your wallet.

The best thing to do is to take the Amtrak from Milwaukee to downtown Chicago and then hop on the Redline and go North to the Addision stop. That is the fastest way and it only takes about an hour and forty minutes or so. However, it is kinda expensive, $22 one way per person, but it does help to avoid all the traffic. If you are going with a group of guys, driving is a lot cheaper; but you have to make sure that you go at the right times to avoid traffic.

That was a thing of beauty. I was lucky enough (as a Packers fan) to have witnessed that game in person, in the company of three of my Bears fan friends, no less. Hell of a way to kick off my NYE celebration.

Why are you paying $6 twice for the train? Just buy a L visitor pass for $5 and its unlimited uses for 24 hours. Whenever we go to the games we buy one and pass it back and save about $15 on train tickets
