Butler M*A*S*H
« on: February 02, 2021, 06:14:12 PM »
1.  This is why you develop your bench.   Injuries and fouls.
2.  Speaking of which, Theo still makes too many dumb fouls.
3.  Symir is shooting everything flat and pulling the string as he does.
4.  Team cannot handle prosperity.
5.  We got plenty of Dexter and Osa.
6.  Harris... Tooth out, raining 3's.
7.  Free throws.  I miss when they were nearly automatic.
8.  Turnovers.   Traveling, charges, shot clocks.   Maddening.   Start the action at 10, not 5.
9.  The trainers have their work cut out for them.
10.  The last few minutes felt like Groundhog day.   We have seen this film before.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

We scored more points than them. The only positive I’ll say about this game.

They thought they won that game so many times. Feels like Koby was laughing/talking trash like it was over a lot.

The sad truth is we have a team with talent but are a really bad basketball team right now.

No ball movement at all
Dribble at the top until <10 secs on the shot clock and then try to drive
No time management / game management related to the lack of bigs
No small ball against a team where it would work

Butler came back with no timeouts... just game management from the bench.  Almost as if they had practiced for such situations.  Perhaps they do.  Butler is actually really bad this year, and MU almost lost.  Shame.

11. Worst coaching job ever by Wojo. We’re starting to expect them, though. I believe every inbounds against the press, but one, was thrown the one place you don’t want to throw them - into the corner.

Getting harder and harder to contemplate how this team beat Creighton and Wisconsin.

There's just no excuse for the turnovers game after game.

Symir's shot.....yikes.

Cain's dunk was pretty awesome, at least.

Need to clean house and start instilling a culture in the program. This team looks to have mailed it in again.

Desipte the negative Nancy's, MU has now played 2.75 good halves of basetball in a row*.

* That last .25 half was rough though.

This I say bring on Villanova for a half then pause the game for a few days and bring on the second half

Why start the second half at all? Just use the Trump strategy. Get a lead? Stop the count! We won. By a lot!

:-*Up 12 with three to go.  Turnovers, clock violation shots, missed free throws and Players were giggling....especially Koby.  Too much milking the clock, believing that was best thing, then let Koby chuck. He got bailed out once by foul called.

20 turnovers and 11 missed free throws and still win.

Maybe hire an inbound the ball coach, this is getting embarrassing.  Never seen anything like it.  Koby should have called timeout, that lead to a quick three by BU.

Koby had 8 turnovers and this team cannot hit free throws to build up lead at the end.

Dex, Symir and Elliott have one made field goal in two full games.  One.
Symir is 4 for 31 now from three.  That’s you guards for next year folks.  Good luck with that.

Need Lewis back real soon. Theo and Carton to heal, otherwise CU gonna slaughter MU.

Win is a win.

I attribute those wins to the probability that Wojo had not yet installed his offensive "system".

This far into the schedule I think it is a cop out to always blame the coach   About time for the players to shoulder some of the blame ! How many times do you need to be in a situation to learn from it. These are not freshman playing their second game

It looks like Symir is shot-putting his shot, rather than actually shooting it. Like he'd rather draw iron than risk an air ball. Gotta get that confidence up
