SOTG
« on: January 03, 2015, 03:06:56 PM »
1.  Chief. Kept us in the game in the first half.  Could have used that at DePaul.  Give it to the Chief!
2.  Juan. He's all over the court. If not for Chief's first SOTG, it was clearly JA. Huge FTs.
3.  JjJ. Love the way he attacked the hoop.
4.  Teve. Thanks for showiing up Tevie. We needed you.
5.  De.  He is tough. Can't shoot. But he is tough.

Big win Warriors!

Sandy.  Without his 1st Half, we aren't in the game.  Plus, I'd like all 8 players to get at least one SOTG during the season.  That would be special.

1.  Cohen, when no one else could score he single handedly kept us in the game.
2.  Juan, for just being Juan.

Yes. Without him in first, probably down at half. Easy SOTG.

1. Cohen. Big time in 1st half.
2. Juan real close second since he finally made some freebies, did everything else well
3. JJJ, shooting was awful but he was all over the place, better with him in
4/5 Derrick and Luke both were key.

Carlino was bad for most part but had some key buckets early in 2H to get us up for good. Steve with a couple huge plays. Duane had a very tough game.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Sentimentally, I want Sandy...... but Juan was Juan for a whole lot of game.    Give it to Juan.

Sandy was big the first half, but Juan was the best player all game.  Shot well, rebounded well, defended all over the place.

Really a great effort by the team.  JJJ, Derrick, Matt...each of them deserve a shout out.

Sandy's first half was great, but Juan was a factor all game. Plus he redeemed himself and made some clutch free throws. They were ugly as sin, but they went in.

Juan.  Part of the reason why we won this game was defense and Cohen was not out there long enough defensively to make a difference.

Definitely a honorable mention to Sandy.

Juan.   EASY to get enamored with Cohen's fantastic first half but Juan was consistently bringing energy and making plays.

Juan hands down. Sandy had a great 1st half, kept us in the game and I was very happy for him to break out after his dnp but games aren't won in the 1st half. JA played a complete game, made some big shots and was all over the court. Juan SOTG.

Cohen definitely.  No one was doing anything on offense until he came in the game.

Anderson had a good all around game again, but included was a banked three, and again, too many missed FT's (although he did make two big throws at the end) that's why I vote Cohen.

He went 6/8 and 5/8 from the line.

He went 6/8 and 5/8 from the line.

He had a good game overall, especially hustle and rebounding.  But the banked three was pure luck, and 62% FT is lousy.  He had to make a bunch in the second half to get to 62%.

Sandy's the guy today.  He played limited minutes and did nothing but contribute, not to mention his FG's were almost all on difficult shots.

JaJuan deserves an honorable mention today - 10 rebounds and 5 assists.  Terrible perimeter shooting (what else is new from him), but I'm realizing that kid has toughness to him, and in the open court makes really good decisions and can finish.

He just needs to find a jumpshot because his shooting is just horrid.  And it's not for lack of good looks.

He is far and away the MVP on the team this year and today once again showed why.

Agreeing with you.  10 rebounds and 5 assists will win games.  I have never liked his shooting form, but if he slashes for 10 points along with the other stats, he is gold.

I'm like you, never have liked that shooting form, but give him this, he goes to the line and makes his free throws consistently.  I'd trust him at the FT line as much as anyone on the team in a clutch situtation.
