G'Town-Providence

Surprised to see an early game today even though it is President's Day.  Tight first half so far.

Do we want to see Georgetown win or lose or it doesnt really matter?

If Georgetown wins the conference and we beat Georgetown and Tie ND for 4th place, we get the bye. Benefit us? yes/no?

GT would have to outright win - not just tie - and we would have to tie ONLY ND for that scenario to work..
I say root for Providence and then for us to win out.  That would put us in a tie with them (unless they lose yet again beyond that).  We'd outright win that tie in a 2-way tie with just them.  Them being in our "mini-conference" would be beneficial if it was a 3 or more way tie.

Providence up one on Georgetown at half.

If I understand correctly the Georgetown win has no effect on tie breakers unless we tie with them.  All of the tied teams are grouped together into a "mini conference" and the records of games in that mini conference are used.

no, it does - IF we end in a two-way tie (i.e. a tie with one other team) with whom we split games (e.g. ND).  In that case, we compare the two team's records against the team at the top of the BE standings and work down until we find a winner.  I posted the official tiebreaker rules here: http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=6393.msg52560#msg52560

If you haven't seen Georgetown pulled away towards the end and took it by 10.
