Marquette Eagle Logo
« on: January 17, 2023, 05:33:26 PM »
Hey everyone, I'm looking for a flag/banner that has the old 2003ish logo on it. Haven't been able to find one online yet.

Side note. I loved that logo and wish they'd bring it back.

For Father's Day last year, my son bought me a t-shirt commemorating the 2003 Final Four, and that eagle was featured prominently.

If we're gonna have the name Golden Eagles, we at least should have a good logo, and that qualifies. I guess they decided they were ashamed of being the Eagles and went with just plain MU instead.

The current images we do have are too cartoonish for me.

Was just saying To my wife that our logo kinda sucks.  I liked it better with the eagle, our off center MU and it saying it Marquette ( assuming no one would know otherwise) is  pretty weak.

We need that swooping grabbing eagle as a symbol of our toughness.

Not a flag, but even though I generally prefer other vendors over the spirit shop, I am likely to get a new one of these.

While a tremendous accomplishment, this is ancient history. Not as bad, but sorta like the Chicago Bears still living off their 1985 Championship. What have you done lately?

Those 19Nine shirts are really nice and really comfortable. I have that one, planning to wear it tomorrow.

I will say though, I do like the new court over the old one. Maybe instead of the awful MU logo, we bring back the Eagle logo like Kansas has.

While true it's ancient history, at least it's Ana accomplishment that gives us something since 77 because that'd be worse than the bears living off 85

i will NOT buy anything with a "golden eagle" on it!  MARQUETTE or MARQUETTE UNIVERSITY or MU...that's it!  was at spirit shop a couple weeks ago.  they have some really nice stuff w/o the buzzard.  my sis in law bought me a really sharp sweatshirt a few years ago but it had a buzzard on the deltoid region...duct tape worked well

If I were a Chicago MU alum I would be talking MU '77, Bears '86, Jordan Bull's and the Cubs WS until the day I died. I dislike everything Chicago sports related, but loved the action surrounding the seasons I mentioned. The '86 Bears and the Jordan Bulls era must see TV for me and I loved it. I loved the Jordan Bulls so much that I went to multiple big games by myself at Chicago Stadium and the United Center. Seeing Jordan at Chicago Stadium and MSG are two of the sporting highlights of my life. I would tell ever Chicago fan to brag about those teams for 50 more years.
