There is one downside to this trade and that is that the Brewers should have found a way to work Seth McClung into this deal. He's out of options to be sent down to AAA and he would be the one I'd take out of the starting rotation which means he'll have to go back to the bullpen or be released if I remember correctly which would mean they would have to send down Villanueva.  Either that or Bush would get sent down. But I will say that this is a great addition to the rotation and gives us a legitimate number 2 starter.

McClung will end up in the pen for a second long reliever, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Anyone know how CC's bat is?

I would say CC is your new # 1 not #2... if you were talking about Sheets as a legit #2 then I'll agree.. CC is the reigning Cy Young award winner in the AL and Sheets has yet to stay healthy for an entire year...

Ummm hope to burst the bubble but now it looks as Suppan will be going to the DL!
McClung back in the mix!

Suppan is only going to miss one start. This was a move to rest his arm.
But I like to throw handfuls...

it was the perfect time to put him on the dl w/ the all star break coming up. that way we have another week to sort out the rotation and Yost finally made a wise decision in throwing 2 lefty starters out against the Reds this weekend.

This is probably the most excited I've ever been about Brewers baseball. As a lifelong Milwaukeean, it's nice to see the Brewers on the positive end of a big trade at midseason. It makes us all believe that they are FINALLY committed to making a postseason run instead of rolling over and dying at season's end which they've been doing for the last 25 years.

Kudos to Doug Melvin and Mark Attanasio for pulling off the biggest acquisition of the season!

Let's go Crew!!!
