Oso planning to go pro
Sorry but those are brutal percentages for HS. Most good college 3 point shooters shot well in excess of 50% in HS not only overall but from 3 point land as well. Seems like a fine player but we need much better, remeber these are the guys that will be filling the spots of the 3 amigos in short time. Those 3 were top 50 recruits. We need equal to or better to be a a top 1/3 BE team.
Those 3 were top 50 recruits.
He's overshadowed on his high school and AAU team(Oakland Soldiers) but has a vastly improving game, classic wing body type. He said two weeks ago that at this point, his two favorites are Marquette and Oregon, and that he is very interested in visiting Marquette. Other big schools are following his progress and waiting to see how he does in AAU this summer to offer him.

Sure even Georgetown and others are taking a look now. The kid is excited about Marquette, wants to visit, likes how they play, likes Crean a lot, etc....Marquette and Oregon are his two leaders right now. If he is good enough to get an offer from Marquette, no reason to believe he wouldn't come to MU. Awfully negative and pessimistic on your part. He is there for the teaking. Keyis MU got in early....yet again. MU was the first to offer Fabrizious as a Soph....and everyone else is coming in hard after him. You want a kid to start receiving increased attention....means the kid is doing well. Recruiting is tough business.....MU has the facilities, budget, success, coach that kids like, etc....MU will be fine.

MU hasn't offered him a scholly, but what strategy is best when trying to crack the West Coast? You already lost out on the weather and distance only to have the Big East Conference and reputation to buoy against those two. When the kid is on YOUR radar and the kid says he's HIGH on you, I think that's a pretty good match. Commit a scholarship and see what happens...playing the waiting is fine, but if you've done your homework it should be "'Nuff said."

Teams don't have the luxury of taking flyers, IMO. Certainly this team doesn't. If he is good enough to warrant one of our few 'ships give it to him. If he isn't, don't.

If he isn't, don't.I beg to differ.Crean always fails to lock up a recruit and, lo and behold, the spring signing season is upon us and we have one scholly to give to....WHO? First tier ELITE players? Second tier players or perceived "diamonds in the rough"? Or the usual JUCO riff-raff that Crean drops a line to?We locked up the Three Amigos in the Fall Semester...that's when the power players sign. We need to do the same and stop hedging our bets that there will be someone left in the Spring "leftovers".
