this was a guy who was well respected by most and respected everyone in return-a true gentleman and a scholar-he respected the life that God gave him and made the best of it-he approached his impending death with dignity and courage, looking back without regrets-RIP my good man

Did not agree with him that much, but he took lemons in life and made lemonade. RIP
-
Outstanding well spoken and brilliant man. He will be missed.

Fascinating man. We've lost many great thinkers this year.
Piece on The Reagan Doctrine, one of his more involved areas of expertise: http://content.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,141478,00.html
Final farewell column, not even two weeks ago:

He will be missed a great deal. RIP Charles.

Amazing intellect, amazing life. A profile in courage right to the finish.
-
I'm not a big TV show pundit guy, so my exposure to him was pretty limited, but I had no idea until about six months ago that he was paralyzed. Profile in courage indeed.

Brilliant and incredibly kind man. The national conversation is weakened by his passing.
-
Brilliant fella, hey. RIP

Did something rare last night and watched Fox, they had a special 1 hour on the man. He started working for Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale as a speechwriter despite no experience. Wrote for the New Republic, used to be one of the best publications out there. His girlfriend stayed with him even after the accident and married him, a great love story. It was worth the hour. How he studied for the medical school after the accident gave me the chills. Determination.

It was an outstanding show on FNC last night.

Krauthammer was one of the giants. A brilliant mind with an undaunted spirit.
-
Krauthammer's passing made me think of another great theorist who possessed both a formidable mind and a deft pen: Irving Kristol. Without Kristol there is no Reagan. Kristol once wrote that a conservative is a liberal who was finally mugged by the stark reality of human nature.
Krauthammer and Kristol take their place alongside Burke, Friedman, Jefferson, Cato, Babbitt, von Mises, Podhoretz, and Buckley as not just brilliant minds but pragmatic realists.
Karl Marx was brilliant. But he was more Don Quixote than Alexander Hamilton or Russell Kirk.
Krauthammer's agile mind and adroit musings will be missed.

Not quite but was born while I was at MU. Great gal. Grew up on an Idaho cattle ranch, went to school out east, and works at MSFT. Keeps me busy and out of trouble. And really doesn't get why anyone would waste time on something like Scoop. She read some of it and said, simply, "Why?"
Depsite that she is an incredible mother to a delightful boy.
