Duke's own investigation did not uncover evidence of Zion being paid.
Is there anyone with an above room temperature IQ that takes them seriously?
That had to be one of the most ridiculously idiotic wastes of time and money I have ever heard of. I don't know if Zion was paid but Duke's own "investigation" has zero integrity and does not benefit the university or Coach K.
I suppose Duke just wanted to give every non-Duke alum an good chuckle.
-
What did Avenatti say?
-
What did Avenatti say?
He has challenged Duke to sue him. He welcomes the opportunity to get everyone under oath.
I guess we'll see how confident Duke is in their own "investigation".
Duke should have let this sleeping dog lie. Rumors of Duke cheating have not significantly hurt their brand in the past so I don't know why they chose this hill to die on.

I assume Duke has a law firm or third party do this, would be really dumb to it internally.
-
Duke didn’t pay him, but did Nike? Or an agent? Plausible deniability
-

Why's that? We live in a zero consequences world.
-
What did Avenatti say?
"I never heard from anyone associated with Duke in connection with my allegations or any investigation," said Avenatti. "I was never asked a single question. I was never asked what information or documents that I was aware of. Who the hell conducted this investigation? Inspector Clouseau?

Why's that? We live in a zero consequences world.
For clarity, I assume Duke has a law firm do their investigation and it wasn’t Duke doing the investigation.
And no, it isn’t a zero consequences world....yet. Ask Louisville, USC, etc. That said, when you open up the jails and let criminals out, give 10’s of second chances, don’t enforce laws, etc, etc, yes there are many in this country that want to create that situation. Not good.

The blue blood schools seem to be immune. I'll leave it at that. Business as usual for the money makers.
-
At least the NCAA will be laying the hammer down on 3 major programs by the end of June...

You must not be very intelligent...is that the going line from you this morning?
Are you suggesting USC in football and Louisville in basketball are not blue bloods?
Breaking News....admit when you are wrong.

Louisville is absolutely not a basketball blue blood.
You going to die on that mountain, too? Don't forget your sharpie.

They did have a law firm do it. That does not change the stupidity of it and the lack of integrity of the findings.
I can hire a law firm tomorrow to prove we never landed on the moon or that the world is flat.
Again, I don't know if Zion was paid, but Duke's "investigation" proves nothing, legally and in the court of public opinion. Hence, a waste of time and money.

You're missing the joke.

I see you ignored USC....conveniently
As for Louisville, you may be right...definitely an opinion based belief. Some put them there and some don’t. But USC...please. Just own it.

I didn't realize we were talking football here. If that's what you want, I'll admit I missed it.
See. That's how its done, you man child.

Not sure it is correct to say Duke’s own investigation was my point. Your other points well taken. I also assume it was a reputable firm, but who knows. Whether the firm was exhaustive or not, will not matter to your point. Those that believe they are cheating will say this means nothing...totally get it. Having Avenatti on that side of argument, however, also isn’t helpful.
-
Zion deserved every penny he or his family got. Good for him

I suppose I should have said "the investigation Duke paid for".
Also, not just those who believe Duke is cheating will say it means nothing; people who have no opinion on Duke, like myself, will see the lack of integrity of this self-serving PR stunt. Non-Duke supporters are justifiably having a good laugh at this "investigation".
What possible benefit could Duke have hoped to gain from this? Seems to be a loose-loose proposition.

Sorry, had the details wrong. 2 major programs by early July and at least 6 major programs by the end of the summer. Source is Stan Wilcox, the NCAA vice president for regulatory affairs. I’m anxiously awaiting early July!
So great news guys, DePaul is a major program! 😂😂😂 (Were they and NC State notified of Level 1 violations?)
When is the end of summer? Do we go by college school calendars, and thus it’s over? Or is it September 23? Can’t wait to hear the other 4 major programs and what their punishments will be! Which major programs out of Rutgers, Washington State, Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Penn State, and Oregon State are waiting to hear they’ll be losing a scholarship each of the next 2 seasons? Hell of a job NCAA!
Meanwhile Will Wade, Sean Miller, Bill Self, and Bruce Pearl are getting ready for the 2019-2020 season

What did Avenatti say?
That Trump paid a porn star hush money after cheating on his then-pregnant wife.

I hear Avenatti is facing many years in the federal pen...his case going to trial...I heard the pornstar and other suing him....sounds like a stand up guy....I’ll bet people really put a lot of support by him, maybe even wanted him to be supreme ruler of the country....I must have seen him on MSNBC and CNN about 100 times...must be credible.... :D

You asked what he said. Not for an analysis of his character. Turned out he was right on that issue though. Wasn’t he?

Louisville is absolutely not a basketball blue blood.
You were the member here that insisted Marquette would not make the NIT two seasons ago. The two of us had some pleasantries.
Are you qualified to determine who is a blue blood? Kentucky is, and I am old enough to remember them put on probation.

Kansas, Kentucky, Duke, UNC.
Then there are the second tier... or has been blue bloods.
UCLA, Indiana, UConn, MSU, Arizona, Syracuse, Nova, and Louisville.
If we're being generous we could add UCLA and Indiana to the blue bloods, but they've fallen pretty hard in recent decades.

Chicos exits the thread and...magically Warrior Dad shows up. Weird.

Exactly. Chicos signs off for the day because he has a full day of football.
“Hey guys it’s me, Warriordad, the Cubs and AZ Cardinals fan!”

Fluffy is sultan.
I'm well aware of that. But my understanding is that is because another poster, not a moderator, blackmailed him into shutting down his account. Which I know a group of you think is hilarious but I think is pretty cowardly. If I have the facts wrong, I apologize, that's what was passed along to me.
I was asking about permabans from the moderators.

According to the search bar Stone Cold renamed himself Blackhat and was active today so he was not permabanned.

LOL. It would be impossible for me to post Sunday at the broadcast center. Where I was at, all phones and laptops are confiscated for security reasons....but hey...you and others be you.
-
I don't know who Stonecold is, before my time. What were Unleash's and Sand Knit's monikers before? Honestly just curious.
You will have to ask Unleash, he admitted to the perm ban here and came back. Sand a Knit has had many names.
Stone Cold people were begging for a permanent, apparently didn’t happen.
Etc, etc
As for Fluffy Sultan, I am glad he is back.

I wholeheartedly believe you. Because everyone around here needs to make it known when they're heading out and won't be able to post for a while so that everyone knows. I must've missed the NBA Draft Lottery Sunday.

Hmm, interesting. So to follow this logic this must happen every time Warriordad posts...I’m not here, but he is, and vice versa. Or is it only this one time? LOL. I’m not going to take the time at the moment, but I would be surprised if there are not plenty of instances, especially on game days when so many Scoopers are here at the same time, where both of us are posting at the same time. But again, you be you.
Makes you wonder why I didn’t come back and post immediately on Sunday to defend Warriordad since we are the same guy....I also noticed Billy posting on Sunday when I was out....hmmmm.

Totally. I wholeheartedly believe you. You don't have a history of being banned and popping back up with a new name or saying you're moving on from Scoop because there are more important things in life than sitting on the internet and then approaching 5,000 posts in your 10 months with this username (see, I didn't even include all of Warriordads beer summit posts in the total, I have no doubt he is not you! He's a Cubs fan, after all!).
By the way, congratulations. The amount of posts you make despite having everything and anything you could possibly post from confiscated at work for security purposes is quite impressive.

Suit yourself. I’ll make sure when I switch my login to Billy later today to double team you. And then same for the others I have here. 8-)
