Lindenwood expectations
« on: November 03, 2017, 08:52:21 PM »
They are young, small and D2.  As long as no one gets hurt, what are you looking for tomorrow?  For me:
Sacar and Haanif playing with confidence.
Freshmen.
I take Markus and Sam as a given.

Win big, stay healthy, get the support players going.  All I want.

I'll be interested to see if Ike plays since that would burn the redshirt.

Doubt they are seriously considering it with Harry out early in the season but if he plays it will eliminate the possibility.

Want to see our guys defend without fouling......especially Theo and Matt.

I’m looking for guys to test out the stuff they have added to their game i.e. Cheatham’s right hand.  I’m also interested in seeing our pick and roll defense.  Surprisingly, Wojo was satisfied with it after the Northwestern scrimmage.  I’d love to see that continue.

This +1. Even if they don't get burned by it, I feel it should show if we've improved or are still a step slow. The offense is the least of my worries. I feel it's all about defensive positioning. I hope we aren't scrambling for help, but rather have crisp rotations and limit penetration.

Excellent pistol, welcome to the board, especially with stuff like that!

Glad to be on here!  I also want to see how Wojo plays different lineups.  Especially if Hauser gets time at the 5 and if Elliott plays at all at the point.

Yah, it’s hard to see Ike not playing given the short roster in the front court.  He can always redshirt next year.

I'm focusing on Gregg and hoping he has a chance to play both the 1 & 2.  His development may be important to us this year and next.  If Izzo wanted him I'm glad he's here.

I wanna see how the freshman play and see if GE can handle playing the 1. I could see him potentially playing either 1,2 or 3 in the future

Why's Matt only playing in the first half under this scenario?

IMO, Ike will play this year.   There is too much of a need early.    Redshirt next year when Morrow, Bailey and Hauser arrive.   Be ready to kick butt in two years.

Lots of offense and bench minutes today. Looking for points off defense, locking up the paint. Haanif and Anim with lots of lay ups.  Three exhibitions are a real plus at the season’s start for the newcomers as we will need their depth early in the OOC.

Defensively, I want to see quick closeouts on shots, better pick & roll defense, and guys sticking to a cohesive gameplan.

Offensively, I want to see ball movement to open up shooters and hopefully 2-3 guys that are able to drive and open up the defense in the process. I would also like to see Markus and Elliott both getting some times bringing up the ball, as it seemed Rowsey was doing that 95% of the time against Milwaukee until his late knock.

I am interested on seeing the improvements of Sacar and Haanif. From what I've been hearing they've made lots of improvements. I would love for Sacar to be an energy type of guy who can come in and play solid defense along with having that "junkyard dog" mentality.

I just looked up Lindenwood on the web. They are out of St. Charles, MO and have 5 Wisconsin kids on their roster.

I'm afraid we may not learn too much about our PnR defense against this competition. I remember thinking we would learn a lot watching the Scion Summer basketball league.

Just stay healthy. Leaving for the game soon.

He will leave at half time to save an orphanage.
