Early season game against a veteran team that was playing their 7th game.

1) Loved the focus on feeding the post in the first half.  Had 4-5 of them in the first 7 minutes or so including one where Theo had his guy pinned under the basket and Markus fed him.  Led to a foul

2) Great to see Wojo test this team by sitting Markus after his 2nd foul. Gave the team a chance to figure things out without their AA on the court.

3) Great defense for 34 1/2 minutes.  Gave up 38 points in that time frame.  RM hit some shots at the end which changed things a bit, but D won this game.

4) Greg Elliott.  Great pick and roll feed to Ed for a basket. Great hustle on D to deflect a pass that led to a bucket on the other end.

5) The weave in the 2nd half got us out of standing around a bit and actually did lead to some open looks.

6) I counted at least 5 wide open looks from 3 that we missed. Hit 3 of them and this is a much more relaxed game.  Team hasn’t been on this floor much, so this will get better.

7) Theo is really becoming an impact guy.  Now 7-11 from the line on the season. And 1 foul in 23 minutes.

Perspective.

Win by 30 or win by 4, these buy games are always brutal no matter what. We’ll find out next week if our team has a chance to do something this year.

Nice.

Yeah, Wojo was definitely “testing” the team by sitting Markus when he picked up his second foul with about 8 minutes left in the first half.  No way he was trying to avoid Markus picking up his third before halftime, it was all a test to see how the other guys would respond.  And they responded so well they were losing 20-19 at halftime to the worst cupcake they’ll play all year.

Those two plays are why Greg is my favorite player on the team. Looking forward to when he is 100 percent.
