Kolek planning to go pro
25 band members with no knowledge of the game of basketball are correct. 2 superstar basketball players who have forgotten more about the game the combined 25 band members are incorrect.
I'll stick with my opinion on Gold. He'll be in foul trouble within the first eight minutes.

The optimism/confidence of this board, defied any measure of logic, in that KenPom had the game at MU +2. Find me a scenario where a team favored by +2 gets the gambling action at a clip of roughly 38-2 (by the end of this thread), and i'll say you've found a unicorn. The game was a draw, until 10 minutes left when Markus Howard went OUT of this world hitting step back 23 footers (while also getting fouled), and putting up 40 points in the 2nd half.Happy we won. Yet, if you want to get right down to the nuts and bolts of it - there was NOTHING about coaching that created those clean, wide open looks Markus was making. What you saw was sublime individual talent. This was a great win, yet the Wisconsin win was more impressive in that we won that game through toughness, defense, COACHING, while Markus was off his A-game.
Why no dissing of Markus last night for hunting that “50 burger,” Wades?Feel free to think Markus going off was the result of great offensive execution/sets, versus individual talent.

Nope. Coaching absolutely mattered. Coaching sat Markus down in the first half when he was playing erratically. Coaching found a five on the floor without Markus that turned a deficit into a lead. Coaching made the decision to not try to match their speed by putting Joey at the 5 and playing smallball, instead keeping one of Theo or Ed out there all 40 minutes and counting on our size wearing them down in the second half. Coaching went to Jamal Cain for significant minutes, whose athleticism & rebounding made a difference after not playing much of late. And coaching had Joey & Sam open when Markus was searing the nets.Without Markus going off, we wouldn't have won as comfortably, but we still would've won. Because of the adjustments we did, and just as importantly, didn't make. Maybe it's an 89-85 win instead of 103, but 56.3% of the points came from non-Markus Howards and we took the lead with him on the bench. Coaching did that. Let's not forget we led at the half after Markus was terrible.Wojo has had ups and downs. Last night was an up. Markus' performance just made it a more comfortable up.
100% correct, the more Ners posts the more he exposes his lack of real knowledge of the game.
LOL - Anyone who thinks great coaching had ANYTHING to do with Markus's 2nd half performance exposes their lack of real knowledge of the game.Brew's point about what transpired in the 1st half was valid and a good point. The topic here being debated was the ~ 38-3 Scoop predictions for MU to win in what KenPom had as a toss up game. Volleyball extraordinaire, Wadesworld, wanted to call out me and Goose for projecting a loss. Markus doesn't go beserk - the game was a toss up as Pomeroy projected. But. Markus did go beserk - and it wasn't the result of incredible offensive sets being run. It was a superstar player, making superstar, high degree of difficulty shots.
Dunking in HS!! Boy you crap all over yourself, hilarious!!!
