Oso planning to go pro
Who do we need to keep an eye on potentially leaving early from some of those schools? Wilson and Dick from Kansas surely will be gone right? Jaquez and Campbell could theoretically return for a covid year if I understand the rules correctly? I'd be okay if we never have to face Edey again, but would he even leave considering how he projects as a NBA prospect, plus I'm sure Painter will find some 7-6 monster out there like he always seems to do. Timme should be gone, but what about Strawther? I know nothing about Tenn roster other than Aidoo. We might not be the favorite, but seeing as we could potentially return our entire rotation and the tournament is early in the season when teams with new additions might still be figuring it out, I wouldn't bet against us.
We're looking ahead to next season's rosters in Maui? Depaul is definitely a trap game now.
Wilson & DIck will be gone for certain.
Forget DePaul....I'm suddenly worried about a trap PRACTICE!
Scoop knows DIck
Hot dang that’s some early season mettle testing - add in the gavitt games, Wisconsin and another possible big ten opponent … let’s hope that pre season ranking is high enough to withstand the gauntlet - assuming we stay the course and most folks return MU Rah!!
A group of us are going to Maui for the first time and hope to get tickets. We've rented a house for the week so we won't be getting one of the all inclusive packages through the school. The tournament has told us that they anticipate the entire allotment of tickets for just the Marquette games will be sold through the package deals. The university has told us that right now they only have package information. The 12 game ticket only packages through the tournament are currently sold out and we're on the waiting list (even though we really only want tickets for just the Marquette games). Anyone have any insight from past years of our chances of getting tickets. Thanks for any help.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.
There’s several of us who rented townhomes in Lahaina. Several are experienced bball tournament vets. I’ll follow their lead on how to get tickets. I’ve been told it’s not an issue if you don’t get a travel package.
I'm not so sure about that. Edey, Morton, and Furst will all likely be seniors and I don't think any go pro early. Painter has proven pretty good at figuring it out, finishing top-30 in kenpom 13 of the last 16 years. He's done really well developing players. I don't think they fall off a cliff that fast, and the same could've been said about "they will never find another" when Carsen Edwards left.
How do you get tickets without the package? It looks like it's all or nothing?
I understand from others that we can get tickets directly from the promoter later this summer. Kemper sports. Late August I hear.
We're only going to need three tickets. The women are going shopping.
Pro tip: It will be cheaper to buy 8 tickets and make them attend.
They don’t call me Rick Steves for nothing. Next up, “West Coast Rican Lunches: To Conch or not to Conch?”
KenPom rankings show an even more loaded field:Tennessee #2UCLA #4Purdue #5Marquette #8Kansas #10Gonzaga #18Syracuse #81Chaminade NRIf the tournament was today, at least one top 10 team would end up in the loser's bracket. That's nuts
