Have to disagree with some of what you just wrote here.

First, Dominic is here to get an education as well which is why he has over a 3.3 GPA and his major goal is to be an Academic All-American. Not saying he doesn’t want to go to the NBA, but he realizes he has an opportunity to get a free education and he is using it.

I was in the athletic study area at the Al this summer during the reunion weekend...DJ's GPA was impressive (had it up on the wall).  He would have been an Academic All-American but freshman are not eligible.  The study facility for the team was top notch--and serious.  We should be proud....this coming from a guy who only went to the library to grab some extra tp for the apartment or to throw at games.

Classes on the quarter system at Ohio State are 5 credits each. Twice per academic career athletes are able to use their sport as a 2-credit class. Greg is doing that this quarter.

Both classes are legit - Sociology is a requirement for every student, and the history of rock and roll is a general education elective.

He took a full-time load in the fall and has over a 3.5 GPA. Give the guy a break - he is a freshman in college, afterall.

I also read in the article that this what his advisors told him to take. He wanted to jump in an declare his major as finance and take a full load. They told him not too. The kid has head on straight.
But I like to throw handfuls...

Does this mean that if he misses a dunk or fails to D-up on his man adequately he can be flunked for that 2-credit class?

Sorry, Buckeye, and nothing against Greg, but FIVE credits for the History of Rock 'N Roll is a joke. And getting credit for playing basketball when he's already getting a free education is laughable, too. How many credits did Maurice Clarett have when he left?

ALL academic classes on the quarter system are 5 credits. Just like all grad classes at MU are 3. 5 quarter hours is equivalent to 3.33 semester hours. It has nothing to do with the topic. He isn't taking a 1-hour golf class, he's taking a history class of his choice. It's called an elective. Everyone gets them.
I won't make any comparisons to Maurice - we're all glad he's locked up and not associated with OSU anymore, trust me.

Understand your feelings, Buckeye. Now please kick the Badgers' butts in the Big Ten tourney. Best of luck.

Now that's the spirit :)

Though I do have to say I hope we don't win the tourney because then we're less likely to do well in the NCAAs - as long as the loss isn't to Wisky (can't stand to listen to that up here!), I'm fine with it :)
