1. Cupcakes are fun.
2. AA&M is bad.
3. JJJ, Derrick, and Duane all took turns looking bad in the second half. Get it out of your system, men.
4. Glad to see STjr score.
5. Glad to see Sandy getting extended run. But you can't foul out, young man.
6. Luke in record book territory. Until the bricked FT's. He's decent.
7. Fouls and fatigue are going to be factors against every good team.
8. But nobody got seriously hurt, everybody got run.
9. Moving on......

As bad as these guys were...we did beat them by more than Dayton, GT and VT did lol
-
It was the comfort with the rims at the Al.
-
How can anyone have thoughts playing that team. They had 20 points in the first half, six of them on two three point 30 foot desperation bankers. Just terrible.
-Free throws 18 for 21, awesome
-Taylor passing, especially to Fischer, awesome
- Du. Wilson, played terrible last 10 minutes
- Fischer better watch his contact with opposing players driving to basket, got called for four of them.
- Most important, where was the walk-on? Up 38 and the kid got a DNP........

Pete supposedly wasn't at the game lol.
And how can you have thoughts? Well, the fact that we did what we should do against a team like that is encouraging. We were not doing that pre Luke. And like I said, we pounding these guys more than the other bigger name schools.
It doesn't mean much at all but we did what we were supposed to at least.
-
I was getting a bit bord watching in the 2cd. Absolute blowout with no bench players or walkons to come in for some exciement. Where WAS PETE Thaus?( I dont know if thats his name or not)

Very much off topic, but does the team ever practice on that floor? Or do they mostly stay in the other gym in there? Kasten Gym I believe it's called.
-

Jeez, the game where he has the best chance of getting minutes and he goes home for winter break? :D
-
MU was favored by 24.5, and they covered by nearly 10, wow.
-
I enjoyed watching big 00. Chick and I called him Mr. Pick.

Tower--you can (and I'm betting you will) include #7 in every post game recap this year. Move it up to #1 and lead with fatigue each game.

Didn't get too see much. How was the experience for those there? Did they get close to filling up?

There were some definite no shows even in the lower sections. I'd guess maybe 70% full. But it was fun. Felt intimate, fans were right on top of the court and the atmosphere was relaxed. Well, except for the guy in front of me who was yelling complaints every chance he got.
What made that worse is the guy sits about 10 feet from me at the BC. Even at a different arena I can't escape his bitching.

10. Steve Taylor looks better on offense playing the high post.

The atmosphere on TV looked great. I wonder if they should do this once a year...or every other year.

Nah, I'll take a game off just to mess with people. But yes, fatigue and fouls are going to be an issue every game.

Box score. 19-21 for Juan, Steve, and Luke. If they could only do that every game......

If they did we'd end hanging banners this year.

Glad it translated well. I was on the fence about going but am glad I went. I think it's a great option for games you know will be lightly attended. I spoke to Joe True briefly and he said we would have been at the Al had we made the NIT last year, and I mentioned it'd be nice if it was a regular thing.
Hmm... Christmas At The Al?

Honestly, as much as it would be nice to have a replacement for the BC, I would rather have an on campus arena that seats around 10,000 instead. (Never going to happen.)
-
Best team efficiency of the year on both offense and defense for this dog. Hard to get charged for that.
-
10. Steve Taylor looks better on offense playing the high post.
Agreed. And that's my recollection from his freshman year.
-
Rail tequila is a poor decision.

And really, that might be the best lesson from this game. AA&M was really not a very good team.
-
- Fischer better watch his contact with opposing players driving to basket, got called for four of them.
This is going to be an issue. The matador defense shown by JJJ and Carlino is continually going to put Luke in a position to bail them out. He is a physical player and will get called on help D. The solution to Luke staying in the game is the guards playing better perimeter D.
I've said it before JJJ is a huge liability on D and if it doesn't improve, it will hurt the team with Luke on the bench.

I thought I read somewhere that Pete had the flu.

Box score: Derrick 2 points in 28 minutes, against the JV squad. Significantly more minutes than the other Wilson--something wrong with that picture.
-
How the other team plays makes the game exciting. I thought the game was very boring. I was anticipating another game like ASU where Fischer would dominate the inside defensively, but Alabama A&M mostly shot from the outside making it a boring game. Fischer was much more impressive against ASU, because ASU kept trying to take the ball inside.
-
The reffing is gonna determine what Luke does this season. Much more lenient crew for ASU then last night
-
My thoughts?
Chop sides.
Anyone else use that term growing up, or was it a Bridgeport, CT thing?
-
Rail tequila is a poor decision.
No sh*t chitown. Why the heck you men didn't toast with something a bit better.....
-

Okay, that would make sense. He was actually at the game in street clothes during the national anthem. We noticed it right away. Hopefully he feels better for Monday's game and can get a couple of minutes. Modest PT when possible ought to be the reward for his hard work every day.
-
Admittedly, we were busy so turned on the game with 10 mins to play in the 2nd half, so we were up 30 .. but on TV it sounded like the place was half empty and very quiet.
Again, I get it, the game was over and there wasn't much to cheer about, so maybe the first half was louder, less ghost-towny.

3 of the calls on Fischer were ticky tack at best. The only problem is we had a BE ref calling some of them.
It depends what they call. He should have only had 1 foul if they called it right.

The calls looked legit to me.

Actually, he should move it down to #8... as in #8strong.
Y'all have a good night.

Cause it was cheap.

When Luke slides his body into the shooter/rebounder with his hands in the air, they will call it every time....and they have the last two games. It really doesnt matter if anyone thinks that they were ticky tack.......if they call it, it is a foul.
