UW at the Kohl Center
« on: January 03, 2012, 08:29:21 PM »
looks like Bucky lost its mojo at home.  three home losses already this season for Wisconsin is an aberration, and it certainly doesn't help us.  Beating Wisconsin was supposed to be our big non-conference win, but now it just looks average.

refs really deprived us of an unreal ending right there.

Yeah, looks like both UDubs (Wash and Wisc) are doing their best to undermine our wins over them.

It is definitely better than an "average" win. That's silly.

Did anyone see the end to that game? The backboard time clock was at 0 but the main scoreboard clock was at .1 when Evans got the ball out of his hand and made the shot to tie it in OT. I still can't figure out if they got the call right. Tough way to lose, but I have to admit I am surprised it went against Wisconsin.
I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I am actually shocked that they didn't hand it to Becky.  That ref Salvatore(sp?) tried his best to keep the dream alive at the Kohl Hole.  Did you see that flop by Gasser?  Even the announcer said you don't see that called in College BBall.  I thought to myself--see you do, in Madison.

Who ever watched the game? Would you like hooked on phonics at your disposal?

It was a great (unreal) ending........Becky lost.  No deprivation.

In real time I thought the buzzer went off clearly before the shot. However, the first replay showed he got it off with .2 seconds left, and I was pretty surprised. Either way, classic reaction by Bo. How Badger fans can call any other coach a whiner is beyond me.

A few years ago the NCAA had all teams install the red border that lights up on the back board when the time runs out. I am pretty sure that when the back board lights up the game is officially over. It is hard to feel bad for a home team whose equipment is not properly working.

To Bo's credit, he gathered himself, shook hands, and congratulated Sparty. I've seen one Big 10 coach who would have pulled the frozen tit in a similar scenerio.

Just read that the clock above the backboard is the official clock for this very reason. So in essence they didn't get screwed, but I'd still be irate if it were Marquette.

wouldnt be shocked if the band wasn't back in Madison yet.  there was no band for our game at the Kohl Center either...maybe not having the band there robs some home court advantage??

Yeah, after he stomped his feet like a baby and called the refs (who absolutely made the correct call) motherfuc*ers a couple times. You really have to credit Bo!

Bucky is damn impressive!

Heard UW dropping Ag Journalism major and adding Time Operations.  Tough couple of days with the clock.  Bizarre really.

The picture of Bo and his side-kick in the stands is a classic. Love the crying by the guy in the first row. :D

Compare Bo's post gamecomments with Jordan Taylor's:

Bo

On if he had a chance to review the final play:
“I got a look at it on the monitor. From a distance - I’m standing back - I thought they were just questioning whether or not it was a three. It was ruled good, so I always thought it had to be inconclusive, and it must have been inconclusive. So no, I haven’t broken it down yet. I probably will though.”

Jordan Taylor

On how tough it is to sit through a replay review at the end of the game, with fate not in the team’s hands:
“It’s definitely tough. We were pretty positive though; we had an upbeat stance on our side. We felt like they got [the shot] off, but the refs made the right call, according to the rule book, so good job on their part. It doesn’t come down to a last shot. There were a lot of things that we need to correct to avoid a situation like that.

And this tweet sums up the Fadger's week:

"#Badgers probably not the biggest fans of clocks these days."

Bo should be fined or suspended for his reaction.  But he won't be.

I did like his post game comment.   "What are you gonna do? Violence is out of the question."   He actually went up in my eyes with that one.
