Gato78 shared this in the Dodds board:
WIth IWB it is never news, it is info.
IWB had what is best described as a heart attack yesterday. They needed the paddles to bring him back. He is currently stable and in the hospital. He has some battles ahead. Give him, Patty and their three kids your thoughts and prayers.
IWB has coached my son in Jr. Hilltoppers hoops. He’s a great dude and hopefully gets better quick.

Prayers up for IWB and family.

Is this the gentleman who has run the summer league MU event over the years ?
-
Yes.
-
Yes.
Oh...no. My hopes and prayers are with this man and his family. Getting to talk to and watch some of our players during those games was fantastic. My Nephs also had a blast getting to briefly interact with our guys. I really hope for the best and am sorry for his troubles.

Sending prayers and good vibes to the IWB family

I know Jim personally. Sad news to hear.
-
Shocking news. Jim is high quality.
I looked around for an update today, but nothing has been posted.
Hope the worst is over and the issue can be fixed going forward.
-
Prayers for him and his family.

The good news is ,if you survive a heart attack, your chances of survival and a return to normal life are excellent.
-
Jim was a little irritated that his hospital tv did not have the Marquette- Seton Hall game...one Irritated White Boy!

Yep. After recovering from one plus open heart surgery (double bypass, a bovine valve to replace mine, and an aneurism repair-in other words, an engine rebuild) I asked my physician if I could possibly cut back on the meds. He's usually very mild mannered but he snapped at me "You're lucky you survived!" I took that as a no on the meds. The only odd thing is that when I pass a nice field of grass, I start to salivate. Go figure.

Which kind?

(http://)I had the same procedure a year ago, found it a mooving experience. Cud not be happier with the results so far.

Which kind?
I live in a rural area and one kind is typically grown between rows of corn. Some years ago, our County Administrator was taking his turn at watering the crop ( sort of a co-op) and was busted by a Sherriff's deputy hiding in the brush. The CA had pissed someone off who knew about the crop so he ratted him out. Only the green stuff in open fields brings out the bull in me.

You guys are so full of bull-hearts!

Hopefully Gato can post an update when he's able.

IWB still in hospital. He has an enlarged heart and the cardio docs cannot figure out why. He will likely need an implanted defibrillator and may end up on transplant list--though his heart is responding to meds--the first batch did not show improvement. FWIW he is getting irritated that he has to stay in the hospital so he is trending back to being his old, IWB self.

IWB has now been released from the hospital, St. Luke's, and is home convalescing. This is great news since his heart stopped working (not blockages, an enlarged heart) and he had to be paddled back to life. His heart must be working well since his now implanted defibrillator never went off during or after the MU game. Special thanks to all who took up prayers and very special thanks to Fr. Laurence and Mike Broeker who touched base with him after the game. Fr. Laurence, has COVID himself, but he was very concerned and IWB was appreciative of his help as well as Mike Broeker's concern and text messages. Thank you all!!!
