Walk-On Warrior
« on: November 10, 2018, 06:39:18 PM »
This was originally posted  in the trading post, but I thought it could benefit from a wider audience. I know it will be going on my Christmas list. Thanks for posting John!

Hey everyone,
After 13 years of going back and forth on this, I finally buckled down the past couple years and finished my book: Walk-On Warrior, which launched a few weeks ago on Amazon.

https://amzn.to/2zL66h3

The book details my experiences as a walk-on at Marquette, working for Rick Majerus, assisting the Milwaukee Bucks, and how basketball opened doors for me that I never thought were possible. Growing up in a small town in Wisconsin, I hope this book inspires young athletes that want to play at the next level and provides a sincere and authentic look at what it's like to play division 1 college basketball. Wanted to pass it on to the MU faithful.

Give this one a bump! (even though I was supposed to stay away from Scoop until Oct. 1st  :-X)

If interested in hearing about Wilkom's book take a listen to this Portland OR based podcast (Bald Face Truth) posted yesterday, by Oregonian writer and radio host John Canzano.

Good chat touching on hoops with Crean and Majerus connections to MUBB, Canzano mentions he still has a voicemail from Majerus on his phone that he couldn't delete but never plays the audio in the podcast.

Go Warriors/Marquette!

John interned for me right out of school.  Great guy who really took advantage of his experience as a Walk On to the fullest.
