Beating the Racers
« on: March 17, 2019, 10:20:14 PM »
-Limit fouling. Easier said than done for an MU team lately allowing opponents to get to the line at an alarming rate. Anim/John/Morrow in particular.

-Post Sam up, early and often. Murray State can be pounded inside. Let Sam and even Joey post up. Get Theo and Ed clean looks.

-Don’t be afraid to go zone for a possession or two. I’d challenge them, especially Morant, to hit shots. They’re going to try to attack MU off dribble drives.

-Get contributions from Bailey/Heldt, they’ll be needed.

-Anim has a good game, MU wins.

-I don’t think the bright lights will bother MU. Howard has had big advertised matchups with Ponds, Powell, etc. Morant has not. I’d like to see MU get up early.

-After that Seton Hall mess, mentally there may not be a better opponent for MU to play than a team that everyone will predict to beat MU. Woj should use “us against the world”.

My main concern is that they are mentally tough. Losing 4 out of 5 is rough and if its a tight game with about 5-8 minutes to play I dread they will get that here we go again feeling and tighten up. I also fear Ed and Theo racking up early fouls with Morant driving on them.

What is Morants foul rate? Maybe Wojo should bring some RAID so there are less ants than Mor ants.
