Might want to try constructive criticism next time.   

From my recollection, we had him playing out of position as more of a 4, when he seems to me to be a 3.  I realize we're supposed to have "switchables", but I think he would have more of a chance to look  good if we have him to start with the ball outside and work in, as opposed to having him set up in the paint and receive the ball.   My recollections of details from last season are sketchy, but that's how I recall him being used on offense, which was a result of Ox missing time.

Injured early...limited largely to mop up time...needed to add some bulk.  I think it might be tough for him this year as well because I think Taylor will be backing up Wilson with Mayo, Lockett and Blue playing the guard spots.  But can see him getting more and more time if he sticks with it.

Jones was a one dimensional player. Anderson has much more upside than Jones. I know they will not, but they should redshirt Anderson this year. That would give him enough time to fully recover and work on his weaknesses.

Juan Anderson is gonna be a player in my opinion. High character kid who supported the team last year regardless.
His frosh year was all bad luck and I wish he had a chance to show his skills. The one thing holding him back now is probably
the fact he couldn't lift and really add any strength to his frame,but I really like his game.

What stands out on Juan is his long frame and ability to reach high for loose balls and rebounds.  Very active, of course.  What else stands out is his ability to do a little of everything: pass, dribble, jump, etc.

On the negative side what stands out is that he doesn't always know what he is doing/where to be, but as a freshman that isn't too unusual.  And that he is very thin.  Kind of hard to mix it up inside with how thin he is, but at least he is willing to try.

He may be a year away, if he can put on some weight.  But he could surprise this year during a streak or two and help us win a couple of games this year.  I don't think you redshirt him unless he isn't fully recovered by Nov 9th (or Nov 11th if he doesn't play in the Ohio State game).

They may lose confidence, but that is because of the step up in competition. At 6'6" Juan was big in high school. Just like Vander who athletically was way above most high school players. Now Vander is slightly above average athletically and has to learn to adjust offensively. I think the hardest thing to project about a player is how he will adapt to the college game. Some players have a hard time adjusting to the higher competition level. Others, like Gardner just seem to adapt. How could anyone guess that Gardner at 330 lbs in high school would have any success as a freshmen in college? I believe (hoping) that Taylor is the same as Gardner. I think both were underrated, because rankings have no way to measure adaptability. Gardner and Taylor(?) are adapters that can step up against tougher competition, while players like Eric Williams and Jamail Jones did not. Juan has been unlucky so far, so it is hard to tell if he can adapt his game to the college level. I like his attitude, so I have high hopes for him taking his game up a few notches.

I hope you are right, but if there is no PT time for him, I hope he red-shirts.  Every summer these kids lose is critical to there development, if he has any talent hope he does waste this
year on the pine

The question is when Juan is healthy enough to contribute? The same question for Otule? The early 9 game November schedule is not good for either of them.

Well since Juan was "cleared" I would think he would be healthy enough.  The real question is that by missing an entire summer and fall if he is going to be strong enough, and in game shape to contribute.  That is a question that might not be able to be answered right away.

There's no reason to redshirt a player who's healthy enough to play 6 weeks before the season starts. If he's been cleared but won't be healthy for more than 6 weeks then MU needs a new medical staff. Missing the offseason hurts no doubt, but Juan has a chance to be a contributor this season, especially down the stretch (i.e when it matters the most). He obviously needs to get stronger but his main issue last season was the speed of the game and the fact that he needed to think too much. This season he should be more relaxed and comfortable on the floor.
