Spot on HC.  Oh, and how 'bout those 13 rebounds by DW?

DW had 1 rebound.
Thanks for ruining summer, Canada.

Defense was huge yesterday. Look at their box score:

https://www.thetournament.com/news/1-golden-eagles-68-1-team-hines-62

Lojeski was 1/4 from three. Mike James just 3/12 from the field (1/6 on threes). Team Hines shot just 25% beyond the arc and 45.5 eFG%. Guys like Derrick & Acker playing really tight, pesky defense on James was a huge part of that.

Honestly, it's so very much fun watching Diener play/coach/motivate.  Sure he hit the big shot yet again.  But I'll focus my comments on his work with Rowsey in Thursday's game.  See Rowsey got frustrated by his inability to hit a shot and by the very physical play that was being allowed.  He was about to react in a less than constructive manner during a stoppage and Travis gave him one hell of a shove in the other direction.  Chapman recognized immediately that Andrew was on tilt and subbed him out.  Moments later Diener also came out and cleared out space on the bench next to Rowsey, put his arm around him and talked to him at length.  And for the rest of the game both were the first to high five all other player contributions.

Diener's playing career will be ending soon.  I sure home he wants back on the MU bench.  Dude is simply a winner.

The first thing you notice is that Travis is significantly bigger, taller, longer than Andrew. The 2nd thing you notice is that Travis reads the defense better/sees the floor and is a better passer. Andrew still likes to go one in one and shoot the three or even try the pump fake foul. Both are fine. But he is still in the process of adding to his game. I saw several small things in Travis’ game that he has picked up over the years. Smart player. And Travis fully understands and expects the physicality.

Does he?  I don't know either way, but I wonder if he didn't really enjoy the coaching experience as much as he thought.

It will be interesting to see this matchup. For those that complain about the non-MU players, I think we can attribute that to the Ohio State team. They pounded us inside one year and led to the team looking for more size outside of the MU alumni base. Crean’s lack of big men recruiting continues to screw us.

Though, Ousmane Barro would look nice on this team.  He apparently has had contractual commitments?

Travis is 10x the ballplayer Rowsey will ever be, only diminished by age.  I wasn't trying to make a comparison.

Of course.  Again, my mistake.  Hope he shoots a bit better on Tuesday.   :)

Role call for Tuesday? It sounds like I will be there.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

I think that the tickets might be more difficult than the past sessons given the two teams. Talked with someone from TBT after the game and they are really excited that this is the matchup given the locally-established fan bases. Sounded like the $25 tix were going fast.

I can't attend tomorrow night, but because I have 600 points, TBT sent out a code for 50% off tickets tomorrow. If there are still tickets available, go to the link below and use the code TBTFAN50 to get 50% off tickets:

Does he?  I don't know either way, but I wonder if he didn't really enjoy the coaching experience as much as he thought.

Considering that coaching's in his blood, if you don't know either way, the default answer is "he enjoys the coaching experience."
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

It is my understanding we are the away team, so will be on the opposite bench side than last game.

They pounded us inside one year and led to the team looking for more size outside of the MU alumni base. Crean’s lack of big men recruiting continues to screw us.

2 things:

1 funny that Crean seems to be reveling in this TBT and, as only he can, essentially taking credit for it.  Yet how many guys on this team over 6’2” did he even recruit? Any size on the Squad Buzz brought in or the guys had to go get.

2. The year MU lost to OSU we did nit have Charlo or Cook, most importantly OSU that year had Sullinger and he was a one man wrecking crew against our small lineup.

Different story now, outcome tbd

Did not see attendance listed in the box score. Curious if the semi final and final have higher attendance than a non conference DePaul game.

I believe I heard that he does not love the recruiting responsibilities involved with college coaching.  He could still love the coaching part of coaching.
Have some patience, FFS.
